Analog can output ANYTHING digital can.

Wait a sec...this card doesn't give the annoying hissing, crackling, popping, screetching and bugging out that the Creative X-FI cards do with games such as WoW and BF2142? I'm about to drive down to the local retailer and pick one up...

Everybody I have talked to says "NO". Some guys I talked to moved from existing X-fi's that did have trouble. Snap in the Prelude and everything works great.

Sweet, unfortunately my local retailer only has the Auzentech X-Plosion 7.1...which I'm told has serious popping & crackling issues just as the X-Fi does, so I guess I'm off to newegg...

You may want to verify this info for yourself. Atleast make sure there is a return policy in case you don't like it. Hope this helps.

Absolutely, I totally have to try it myself before I believe anything. The thing is that the store is like 45 min away...and 45 minutes is a LOT of my time these days. I'd rather not make un-necessary trips if I don't have to.

Incorrect...analog plays it all. You, like many, have the false idea that digital > analog...which is hardly true.

6 RCA cables (or 8 for 7.1) into the direct analog input slot on your receiver...you should have one as I do.

IIRC, The original "Classic" X-fi's had alot of difficulties with SLi mobos..
Let us know what you find out.

onkyo digital dac X prelude analog dac

I guess the analog output is stronger, still have to listen more.

I think there is a difference indeed.

I can hear subtle nuances. And this happens when I not paying attention to the song. So I guess it's not that psychological.

I was about to purchase this card from NewEgg but I realized that Auzentech sells it for $199 and NewEgg sells it for $229. I called Auzentech (US) since they're local to me and the sales rep was very friendly and he stated that they didn't anticipate to sell soo many cards soo fast and that he's not sure why NewEgg is selling it more than they are. He thought it was a surcharge due to supply and demmand but still couldn't understand why. I was told that NewEgg had it also for only $199 a week or so ago so I'm surprised that NewEgg, as awesome as they are, would do this.

I think they are running very low on cards. Alot of online shops are doing this now.
    It is just business.
@Mito, so which is better analog or digital?

Of course, it's just---annoying. The rep from Auzentech assured me there will be a HUGE shipment coming in within the next few weeks and that there will be plenty to go around. I'm sure by that time NewEgg will reduce their price and obviously AUzentech will have it on their site for $199 for purchase directly from them.

@mito, You should use a amp yes unless your using headphones. In that case the card should be able to drive good headphones. The outputs are hot @5volts....
If anybody wants to buy one you should do it soon. The word is the supply is drying up fast.
