The BIOS i have at the moment, dont seem to be up to date with my CPU... i got the G0, but in the latest BIOS version (0702) do support my CPU,

Could this be the reason that my computer keeps on freezing?
so i dont have to keep pulling the plug out and plugging back in...

also: i downloaded the latest nforce drivers, restarted PC, and i have alot of artifacts on my desktop... and PC was frozen, so i restarted it, and there were no lines/artifacts this time... strange

Did you remove the battery and clear your CMOS after you flashed your mobo?

Yes, if the CPU isn't supported, it would cause freezing. If it boots at all.

it supports the Q6600, but not the Q6600 G0... thanks for the replies, but im not sure how to flash the bios or w/e, i just want to update the bios so my pc wont keep freezing :(

will the BIOS update work with the Asus Updater?

and if i update bios do i have to fill in my Whole bios in again?

oh yeah and take a look at this pic...

the top right (circled) are the 12V ATX, i have taken the black bit off the other half and put both my CPU and power connector in... is this causing a problem?

also bottom, i have all 24pins in there, should 20 do? (4 split off)

    thanks

Your power supply has the all the pins that supports your board 4pin molex and the 24 pin use them,Skimping out on the plugs could cause stability isses.
Bios updates are a different matter......Have you ever done one?

Yes, it is. And yes, you'll have to set everything again in BIOS.

right ive updated/flashed... didnt really have to change bios settings

    *EDIT*

nah it isnt working now, i get onto desktop, after a few mins, alot of writing comes on screen, and then pc restarts...

    This is so annoying >:|

maybe it is because i got a s*** motherboard....

    Try this
Clear CMOS and Load Optimized Defaults.

    Unplug from wall.
Turn the computer on to drain all power from the capacitors.
    Remove the battery.
Move the CMOS Jumper on the motherboard to the Clear CMOS position.
Let it sit a couple of minutes.
Put it all back together again and move the Jumper back to the Normal position.
    Start it up.
Enter BIOS and "Load Optimized Defaults", It restarts...
Enter BIOS to make the rest of your necessary changes.

That's weird. Does it display a different BIOS version when you boot?

Isnt it in your users manual?
If not just unplug from power supply & remove the battery on the mobo to clear CMOS

well i found this in BIOS...

    Plug and Play O/S [NO]
    Primary Display Adapter [PCI]

also Audio is now set to [Disabled]

i think it might of been something to do with them... or its my internet, because my pc is fine, runs solid, without the internet pluged in

Hm, I thought I've posted this already...

I've seen this before, the network adapter is the culprit. Nothing you can do, but RMA the mobo. Sorry, dude.
