Out of curiousity, is this CPU Core Diode the same method that this "CoreTemp" program is using? http://www.thecoolest.zerobrains.com/CoreTemp/ Using a value that the CPU keeps internally sounds very accurate and efficient compared to polling a Winbond chip for thermometer readings. -k
I am sorry for not updating the plugin for E4300 but I haven't found any info on how to detect correct offset and I am too lazy to reverse-engineer it. Furthermore, Intel refused to publish more details about MSR 0xEE, and they even locked the thread where I and a few other developers (including Rudolf who wrote the original linux driver) were asking for those details. It is dead obvious now that they are keeping the details for themselves because they want their Thermal Analysis Tool to be the only one with the correct readings. I am not going to support their arrogance with my work. If their stance on documenting things doesn't change this will stay the last version of the plugin as far as I am concerned. EDIT: I have started a new thread. Let's see what happens next.
hehe i must revive this thred its good im using a QX6700 @3.2ghz and ur plugin levicki works perfect, same readings than everest, thx alot man also to u unwinder to make this posible ty ty ty
Put the downloaded plugin (extracted if compressed) into RT's plugin folder. "Error message" is too vague.
when I doubleclick the plugin to install it even if placed in the plugin dir I get this error message: riva tuner 2.03 has encountered a problem and needs to close. we are sorry for the incovenience. if you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost. please help as I love riva and I really want to monitor my cpu temp with it and this is from fresh install of win xp
Are you able to start RT _without_ installing the plugin? If no - read 2.03 thread carefully. If yes - I'd like to see crash address.
yes riva works perfectly... o/c my 88gts without problem I also monitore my core speed and usage and also the update that cames with riva 2.03 for driver update installs with no problem only c2d temp reading plugin does not want to install... how can I show you the crash address???
It is available in detailed info of error message. And I'd try to re-download the plugin file. Probably it is just corrupted download.
Then you're out of luck, sorry. No detailed info - I'm unable to investigate anything. And considering you're the only one unable to install this plugin since it was created about a half year ago, I've no other sources able to report detailed info. Just don't use it.
yesssssss... uninstalled and reinstalled riva with the plugin placed in the same dir so riva automatically updated and now everything works perfectly... tks for help and special tks to the developers of this usefull software
before plugin was placed in D:\CD\Drivers\8800gts\Guru3D.com\Setup now both files riva install exe and c2d plugin update were placed in D:\CD\Drivers\8800gts
Just verified and installed the plugin from the same location. I'm afraid that there was something screwed in your previous RT install and full RT reinstall fixed that, that was not a result of installing from other folder. If so, the plugin should now be able to install from old folder too.
Is it possible this plugin is not reading accurate from a e6750 ? 25C y way to low from the real 38C.
the plugin is reading the temp as other apps do... my is 21°C core0 19°C core1 (idle) and TAT, Riva, CoreTemp are reading it in the same way
