How that driver compared to DNA 94.24 at bioshock?

 

Dunno about the real numbers, but they say it's optimized for that game..so it must run better than with your current drivers. Just give it a go, I think that you won't be disappointed

Broke 13k in 3DMark06 at last (13036). Used to be 129xx. :flip2:

Can't say anything useful yet about IQ, but 3DMark looked nice.
Will test some games (and Vista x64 drivers) tomorrow.

Did anyone manage to get AA working with Bioshock? I tried both nvidia CP and nHancer to do it but still get jaggies :/

I guess I have to find correct compatibility mode with nHancer. General compatibility and profile default (0...045) didn't work at least.

 

isn't the AA a limitation for the Unreal T3 engine?

 

Yes I believe it's a problem with the engine.

Anyways: New drivers ruined my performance. 3dmark06 goes to 30fps when starting the first test compared to 77 on 158.22 and 162.18. Didn't finish it. Also bioshock intro in plane went from 60fps (capped at that due to refresh rate of my screen) tot 48 max (with dips to lower fps). This also happened with the latest certified non-beta quadro drivers, I ran the entire 3dmark test with those: ~4500 points. Since the fps at the start with those drivers is the same as with the "bioshock"-drivers I reckon I would also get that score with those..

(System: E6600 @ 3.4 + 8800GTX stock + Windows Xp Prof)


edit: I installed by deleting old drivers, rebooting in safe mode running driver cleaner, rebooting, installing, rebooting.

 

Nvidia hasn't been writing the release notes for beta drivers for a while now. They just keep copy/pasting that text.

Just to play a certain game we need to install a driver released for it :S, come on ! i just installed 163.16 and they work great in every game ! but nooooooo Bioshock runs like sh*t !, so i need to install these just to play this game... ffs.

I have XP and Vista Premium x64 ( Dual Boot ), both have the 163.16 driver.

F*ck it.

 

Is it just me or did Nvidia actually enable DV in these drivers (vista32). I dont recall it being enable in any other driver. Seems Nvidia are doing quite well on the driver front atm.

I just installed these so I've not testet any games. Coming from 163.11.

 

what about World of Warcraft performance with these drivers Win XP & Win Vista?

I can confirm that Digital Vibrancy has been removed in those drivers. I just finished configuring them with RivaTuner 2.02 and it's the first thing I noticed that was missing.

I don't understand why nVidia keeps removing it and then putting it back ...

I'll try the drivers for a moment, and if they offer no tangible different compared to 162.50's then I'll re-install that driver set back instead, because I can't use my system 24/7 without Digital Vibrancy, it's just that great.

 

These drivers have DV and can also run it with Bioshock. I was using the 162.50's before these. The Bioshock demo couldn't run with DV on with those drivers and performance and IQ was worse than the 163.44's.

Anyone else get a performance drop in games? I lost about 5 fps

Does anyone know why everytime I uninstall the driver, my monitor goes blank? I have to hard reboot my computer since it never recover and jsut staying blank. This happen ever since I installed either the driver 162.50 or 163.16 for Vista 64.

I agree. You don't have to install these drivers just to play Bioshock. They run fine for me in other games too. Just cos a it's says a driver is optimised for a particular game doesn't render the driver useless for all others.
