What i meant is when Safari initializes the quicktime plug-in to display movies this is what happens.
Yea, I'm sure there will be heaps of problems to come, it is a Beta, and a very first too, being on Windows. So I'd expect quite a few bugs and hiccups along the way. There's already people finding flaws and bugs for it, which is stupid considering this is the first beta and it's hugely new, of course there's going to be bugs.
Downloading now, it's about time Apple released this for PC as it will hopefully be a decent alternative to IE as Itunes is to WMP.
Seems quite nice to me and is faster than IE, there are a few bugs (obviosly) but it's running better than expected.
No, its perfetcly fine to have this much mem used when you start using tab adn youtube etc. As its trying to cache the pages in the ram which is slightly faster than say your harddisc. (correct me if im wrong). Im going to be open minded about this... so we'll see. EDIT: I have one problem with it, the need to install Quicktime. Some pages are drawn differently, but the speed is not bad, it does an IE7 where is waits a little then renders which is what good browsers should do IMO.
I've tested Safari and Opera on a lot of websites and Opera definately is the faster one. It seems like Safari is searching or waiting for something when loading a page. It's just not as responsive as Opera.
Yeah, i like it. Is it that much faster, mmm... marginal i would say. But i prefer it to other browsers. One thing that makes me biased towards safari and opera is the fact that they are erm, how to put it...simplistic/minimalistic/ (but in a good way) not piled with crap i would never use. Just a nice simple/small bar at the top. You know the feature that finishes off the word/web address for you automatically? well i find that it is allot more 'polished' in safari than other browsers with similar systems, it actually works well in safari. So yeah, pretty good. But having issues with it never saving my passwords properly. *edit: actually i change my mind, it is (for me anyway) quite a bit quicker when i compare it with FF/opera now. "snappy" was the word i think that was used by someone earlier.
Yea, it uses it's own rendering for text, which I think are 1000x better than Cleartype, Cleartype is rubbish I recon, it's like it spaces the letters further apart. Ugh. I like it, using it on Mac atm, and tested at home on Windows, not bad, still a few little quirks, but looks like I'm switching browsers.
i like apple in general especially the OSX theme im using from 3 years on my pc im going to give Safari a try. edit : lol downloaded in 6 seconds flat.
holy f******** this thing is FAST!!! and works beautiful with Guru3d forums, looks like a Firefox ripoff only its truly faster, looks great on my OSX Theme too what im concerned about is security though, how secure is this compared to Firefox or Opera? damn the font smoothing thing really made a huge difference and things look superb here.
