Buying a new CPU toss up

Hey I'm thinking of buying a new CPU and I'm tossing up between at E6600 or an E6700 as my budget only allows me to get those.

Which one would be best for my money:
E6600 (305 AUD ~251 USD)
E6700 (425 AUD ~350 USD)

and which one is the better CPU in terms of overclocking etc?

on the other hand would it be better to spend this money buying an 8800 series gfx card (320 MB version) or is my CPU long overdue for an upgrade?

That is a very wise choice you have done there bro , the Q6600(quad) will be very affordable.

 

No point in waiting for Penryn, current Core 2's are great CPUs and can have on the cheap, and you can drop them right into your current system.

Increase your cooling!! I hope my 3.2Ghz holds out..my 8800GTS will be goin back to stock though..

 

yeah im hoping i'll be able to buy a cpu with 1333mhz fsb so that i can take full advantage of my mobo whenever they do come out but until then ill probably buy myself a quad with 1066mhz fsb

will have to take out a second mortgage tho
