or @

1680/1050 + HDR lighting + 16xAF + ALL sliders maxed (no AA)


so either way the game runs great

 

Im running this on vista, and it's eating up so much RAM and it's running kind of ****ty. Like when I 1st walked outside my fps slowed to a crawl for at least a minute while it seemed to load all the new **** up. After 2 minutes or so, it seemed to stabilize and I got a decent FPS, but it's annoying as ****


for 7 series nvidia users using an amd64: what drivers are you using and what are your results


edit: btw Im running at 16080x1050, my monitors native resolution

 

Haven't had a chance to play it yet but, the character animation looks absolutely terrible, I've seen games 3 years old with better looking characters than what I've seen in screenshots so far.
The environment, lighting etc looks great but the characters.......

A little off topic but, just today I had the pleasure of seeing a demo of CRYSIS in person for the first time.
All I can say is that it looked great in videos and screen shots but seeing it on the screen in person will make your jaw drop.

 

A few shots to the head with this baby puts them down pretty quickly

Just remember to aim down the sight with the AK, it makes a huge difference.

Not that I have seen so far. Honestly at the point where I am up to underground I am craping my pants, it's more scarier than FEAR. Hey John where abouts was that scene where you had that AK?

 

can i say something honestly?
i just got out to go on my 1st mission and started shooting some enemies...it sucks, worst weapon sound ever lol but the game is good anyway.

called BOILING POINT only better.

As mentioned before the screens don't do the game any justice, In my opinion it feels pretty "right" considering the atmosphere and the sound, graphics are good as well imo. The only problem I see for non-russian speaking players is that a lot of chatter among the NPC's is in russian (which is my native language) and some of it actually matters, like when a stalker asks you to hide your gun or else he wan't speak to you, or someone asking for medkit etc. That is where I see some disadvantage for ones who do not understand russian, but this kind of authencity in the game is of great value to Me personally!

I agree fully - the chatter in russian creates an atmosphere of uncertancy and makes it alle the more spooky - i'm gonna love this game.

 

Yes a game without stat of the art graphics is a joke. Never mind the story,ambient,IA, replay value, adding new things, being different.... Who cares right?!

So for those that are playing the game, your thoughts? Still waiting for my collector´s edition to arrive.

 

Chill out, models aren't everything! Physics, lightning, enviromental soundstage in this game are well done. Not to mention the AI, but it does require some powerful pc to run in full glory. I run it 1600x1200 all maxed with 16xaf 4xaa (if that works, but I don't really care with this game tbh). Imo the sound in the game is brilliant (don't care about the weapon sounds), X-Fi might just add some to it as well.

 

I'll give it just about 10 of 10 ^^ And just started pretty much. Stumbled upon my first 2 mutants and omg, scary is not the word. Fear go home IMO.
