Um, who exactly? Don't get me wrong, this keyboard looks pretty cool but who the f**k is that stupid to purchase a keyboard this expensive? Mike.
In that case, I will just beat the **** out of him and take it. Ain't that hard since I will probably be bigger than him. Mike.
every key is a small display. this means that, depending on the application, it shows something different. it can show icons of certain functions mapped to keys in for example photoshop or a game. simpler is that it can show different keyboard layouts depending on your language used(very good for me, as im used to azerty, but sometimes set it to swedish, and i dont know all the symbols in a swedish keyboard.
It's fancy and all but $1,490 is a pretty nice new rig. I guess something like this would be useful in multiple language environments. However, it's probably only worth half of what they're charging, if that.
it is a great idea for a keyboard but come on the price is to high if it was cheaper it would sell very well
For 1490 usd that thing would better either give me force powers or at best type everything on its own. now, it has some good qualities but if one fails, its pretty useless.
For $1490 you can feed an African kid for at least a year. Art Lebedev should be named "The King of filthy rich bragging rights chasers"... (I bet he secretly hopes that Paris Hilton will buy a pair of those for her stupid dog and herself... )
Who is it meant for? I mean, it's not hard to memorize the keyboard inputs for games. Are people really that dumb that they need little pictures to show them?
lol, if all else fails ppl could get some pieces of scotch tape and do the same thing this thing does.
Probably not, but it certainly looks cool . Imagine if they implement some kind of standard protocol so that games could automatically change all keys. Wouldn't it be great to install a game and *not* having to memorize the controls, because the keyboard automatically says what's every key function? . Now, we have neon cases, bright front displays, colored coolers, optic mouses, fancy on/off leds, and now add a graphic keyboard. In the near future, turning on your computer will be like going to Las Vegas.
That's exactly why I hate PC modding with a vengeance! It's becoming too flashy+kitchy for my taste. uke2: I like my tools to be plain, simple and efficient, i don' really care how they look. That's also the reason why I am always using the classic Win95/NT4/2000 visual theme on my computers (even on *nix).
PCs are getting fancier because more and more people are using them in their living rooms, thanks to HDTVs. Naturally people want it too look nice. Some people do go way overboard. Some are starting to look like a smuf on an acid trip threw up on it. I'd only buy the Optimus Keyboard if it turned into Optimus Prime. Then it would be worth it.
haha If a rich sucker is so bad that he can't remember what the keys mean for a game, then he needs more help than a $1500 keyboard! Who looks at their keyboard anyway...Mine might as well not have any symbols on it as far as I care.
