apologies for poor quality, neither fraps nor game recorder will take screens from this demo, so I had to use print screen and mspaint, as I don't have photoshop installed at the mo!

A patch will be released later. And that game is awesome!!

Pretty hardcore RTS though. High learning curve.

I have the 8800GTS but have not instaled Vista on this computer , it is on my 4600X2 with my 7300GT file shares and printer share. This almost makes me want to install Vista on my main rig LOLOL ! They sure are great looking screenies .

Vista is worth it.. the 8800GTX is worth it.. the load to watch this thing in action is worth every penny!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got turned on just by watching the water drop!! :supercool

I agree. Though some bump pics look really nice.

twoodster: the demo is mostly to show off the geometry shaders for the rocks, and physics calculations for the water running down them. That is something HL2 (or any game for that matter) couldn't do unless scripted, or a simple waterfall.

It seems clear this is more about the technology to proceedurally create the terrain and textures, and the physics on the water.

But the psudo liquid effects from the Ageia tech demos looks a lot better, had they done that flowing across the terrain, then I'd be impressed.

Indeed!, You've gotta admit it's the most beautiful demo ever for the public released, with REAL TIME ON GPU PHYSICS CALCULATIONS :D

I wonder why the framerate is so poor on mine then - I turned off the dual monitors and it's better but still not great. Zoom in on the base of a waterfall and the framerate drops dramatically - this is with an e6600, 4gig DDR2 and an 8800GTS :/ Running it at 1680x1050 AA 4x AF 4x

Ok that is indeed an issue, but in future gaming this will be optimized of course (I may hope)

can you say anything POSITIVE, MAN ?!?!?

Oh, so it's not just me then - I thought everyone was getting 200fps etc! Can I say anything positive? Hmm.......things can only get better? ;) Hehe sorry - I was more impressed with the 8800 tech demos to be honest!

This is the first tech demo ever released for public. It'll need some time, things will improve tremendously fast, before you know it, PhysX won't be needed anymore :D
For now, I think this looks GREAT :D

Princess: the stuff from Ageia was KINDA nice.... but a lot of their "liquid" effects looked more like slime than liquid.

Well, I finally found something stupid here :(

The water can fall, but it doesn't fill up a hole.

I wanted to start a cascade in a hole, but the water doesn't fill up, so nothing fell down... :(

    This demo, is amazing...

Like I said last night this is the reason I built this rig...

Well it shouldn't be, it should overflood and fall down. It's just a little hole.
At this point we can see how physics processing on the GPU still sucks...

Vulture with all do respect... saying it still sucks on a first time demo with new technology is a bit harsh.

With what it does, its the best weve seen thus far.. and shows allot of promise of what is to come.

    Also to look at crysis

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=iu-cig91lnc&mode=related&search=

and what it shows is amazing... Leafs that you hit show real time damage, Grass that breaks as you walk over it.....etc.....

The future is looking good here, and we 8800 vista peeps are in for soem real eye candy
