As some of you in the US know, the ice storms going thru the midwest have wreaked havoc on thousands of people....including our little town we live in. So, until the power gets back to the town I live in (currently staying warm in a hotel another city away)....I'll be taking a quick vacation from the forums. But, for those out there that were hit harder, our family's prayers are with you and we hope all goes well in getting your lives back in order! (by the way, we've got picks of the storms and the massive damage it's caused, along with some wicked ice formations from the trees and things....I'll post them later when we get access to our home systems again)
The snow is coming this way. We're supposed to get 10-15cm (4-6 inches). I hate winter, though we've been lucky up until now here in Ontario.
We have hardly had a lick of snow here, usually by this time of year we would have had at least a foot, so I think we are about due, but I like it this way. And about the "Global Warming", believe it or not worse winters for some people is an effect of "Global Warming".
Bright and sunny here in Brisbane... still. Dam levels are at 19% now. If it goes on much longer we are going to start getting intermittent water sent to the taps. Not good. Can you guys melt some of your ice and send it this way?
4-5 feet of snow in the last month last few days the high has been under 10F, with negative wind chill
No snow here, because I live in texas, but tomorrow we're going to have freezing rain all day long. I used to live up north, so I'm used to things like this, but the natives down here literally drive into a telephone poll the minute the weather changes bad.
It snowed hard in October here, and it destroyed most trees. But, since then we haven't had more than a dusting...very strange. Although they are forecasting a winter storm tonight, so we shall see.
Curious. Here in New York the weather is a bit cold but no Snow at all. Bah.....i want some snow to come.
But you have water there? I heared about some storm in Sweden. In middle parts of Finland we have snow, not as much as usually, but still.
Live in Victoria Australia. We are currently in the worst "drought" on record, entering its 6th year with basically no rain in that time. Our areas water supplies are at less than 10%. Melbourne itself supposedly has somewhere between 12-18 months water suppy left. The scary thing is though, this doesn't feel like a drought, but more like our new weather conditions. And to think this is only the start...... Edit: Oh, and I forgot to add, today was a slightly warm summer day for us, of 35C (96F).
Umm... it hit the NORTHwest first. We got a lot of snow, temperatures around 0F to the teens, and it has been like this for over a week. Seriously, it sucks. And more snow tomorrow. Joy. I don't know what the heck is up with the weather. In November we had the wettest month ever with almost 16 inches of rain in Seattle.
