SLI mean u can connect to "SLI able cards to run together" and PCI-e is like AGP but better, its the Interface. and DX10 the Nvidia 8800's have DX10, i think they are the only cards with DX10, but you cant use DX10 until Windows Vista Final.

In my opinion these are the Best brands for DX10 and the 8800 series cards.

 

PCI-E is how the card plugs into your PC

SLI means you are running two PCI-E cards in your computer.

 

eVGA is a good brand also

 

ROFL eVGA is not, it is a Decent brand but XFX Gigabyte BFG are the TOP 3

and the ATI R600 will support Dx10 they come out in first quarter of 2007. The R600 will of course be Direct X 10, Shader Model 4.0 compliant.

Thats really a matter of opinion, what standard makes one developer better than another? thats like saying Corsair RAM is better than Crucial ram (although its a decent brand) neeye:

 

I am unhappy with my 7950 GX2 because the freak'n thing can melt steel.

It works fine but is just to hot and if I overclock it it starts to stutter.

I can return it so the question is should I get another 7950 GX2 or an 8800 GTX????

I think the 8800's are PCI-e so they will work on my motherboard; which by the way is awesome.

The 8000's only have 768 memory, but I have read that they are much faster than two 7950 GX2's.

Anyone have any information or ideas on the subject please let me know.

The memory of a videocard doesn't have to say anything about it's speed And btw, the 7950GX2 can only use 512MB, not 1024MB

Go with the nVidia Geforce 8800GTX It's an AWESOME card, and alot faster then your 7950GX2

eVGA is the best manufacturer IMO. How can they be bad? What other company offers:
Double life time warranty?
Ability to add custom coolers and not loose your warranty?
Step up program?
Good prices?

None! BFG are all overpriced for very small OC's.

 

These 8800 GTX cards are HUGE.
Like around 10 1/2". I only have about 10 5/8" .

its a great upgrade if he can *return* the GX2 like he say's he can, and get a 8800GTX. i came from 7800GT SLi, and my 8800GTS is a nice upgrade ... quite a bit faster in most situations!

 

I agree. With the G80 series thier all the same and one is probably better off buying the brand with the best customer service. eVGA has great Cust service.

 

It is if you wanna play any DX10 games. First of which will be released in about 5 weeks. LOL!

IMO BFG = BEST FOR GAMERs, they are the power house. "fact me and my friend both bough Geforce FX 5600 Ultra's back a while ago, his was BFG and mine was i think CHaintech. we had the exact system Ram Mob everytihng CPU. and his Computer DOMINATED over mine. its the BFG great GREAT cards.

 

Man that's like total crap. There's no reason a brand would dominate another brand because they don't produce the cores. nVidia does. So, his BFG must have been overclocked, which cannot have maked such a big difference, or you didn't look well and the cards were simply different

 

its personal choice at the end of the day. i like leadtek tbh cos ive never had a problem but i will agree EVGA is very good. EVGA let you put on custom coolers and overclock and yet it's within their warranty. better to be safe than sorry.

 

I love my EVGA They have the best customer support by far.

Had a leadtek card before and it was good as well.

 

eVGA is a great company m8...........probably one of the best ones out there....dont judge them if you havent tried them......they have also the best warranty out there.
