    Downloading those, though, I'm using the 93.50 ones and they are a charm.

    If the 93.81 get better, I'm gonna keep them, otherwise, gonna get back to the 93.50 and keep them. At least if they don't restart playing Dark Messiah!!

    Just installed these and my boot time flew and Windows feels more responsive.??? :eek:neeye:

    Going to try some games....

    EDIT: Idle Temp has gone from 52 to 56 idle with these 3 degrees increase!

    Games all run smooth! Bf2142, bf2, NFS Carbon.

    Hrm that is strange I thought how driver numbers worked is each number stands for a certain build into something and thats why they always rose up. Mind telling me what the numbers stand for?

    This is the first time I have seen it go backwords.

    Agreed. We demand 8800 drivers... Soon, very soon.

    nVidia drivers use the format XX.xx for version numbering.

    XX = a major feature is added. This can be a new series of cards supported, or new PureVideo features, or whatever.

    xx = bugfixes build.

    Naturally we dont get all the minor bugfix builds, but we get most of the major builds.
    nVidia seem to be developing several builds in parrallel, like these 93.xx series drivers for Geforce 7 and below cards, as well as the 97.xx/98.xx drivers for 8800 series cards and Vista.

    Downloading now, will compare them with this current fw97.28.

    EDIT: just installed, seems ok so far. The performance is quite similar with the all recently tried drivers, so I'll keep them for a day or two, and then I'll decide what to do with them :D

    Just because 1 non 8800 driver shows up people start complaining already. Look I know some of you are hardcore hardware guys/gals, but give it a rest already. Every driver thread is getting pushed off topic about demanding 8 series drivers. Thats why i personally hold off till the 2nd gen of the series. You all should realise by now these things take time, and wont be perfect from day 1.

    Im giving these drivers a DL and install to see whats up!

    Ya thats how I was seing it so I was confused why it was going backwords but it makes sense if you are splitting drivers for cards and Vista. Thanks for clearing that up.

    What are you talking about. For an example, the 8800 hasnt even got any drivers for x64 XP. And sure it takes time to write decent drivers, but maybe they should have hold off the launch until they had the drivers ready. People(like me) take for granted, that when you spend cirka 650$ for a GFX card, you should be able to atleast use it with youre OS, specially without BSOD´s. The only driver that works with g80´s in x64 is FW 96.89, and those are buggy as hell. I get BSOD´s if i connect my 21" Screen and 37" LCD in my 8800GTx in the same time, and i get really poor performance in games like BF2142. Thats not acceptable, so we have a damn right to be upset...You can be a chicken and wait for second gen cards, that doesnt mean we who want the top of the line hardware ASAP, have to suffer from poor drivers!!? Or the lack of them!
