    Aorus Master 4090
    FSB = 250
    HT Multi = 4x
    CPU Multi = 11x
    ram Frequency = 667
    Ram voltage = 2.25V @4-4-4-10-15 T1
    cpu voltage = 1.49V core 1, 1.45V core 2

Using the OP's formula I'm at 2.74Ghz, I can't seem to get my cpu to 2.8Ghz or higher. I don't know if I should lower the HT or CPU mult. I did cheat one time and just raised the fsb to 274 and left the ram timing on auto, it wasn't stable. It was fast, but I couldn't get it to stay stable. Someone help me reach 2.8Ghz and higher please.

this morning i did some testing, used your same values, 245x11 @ ~1.43v, memory at 900MHz 5-5-5-15-2t (wouldn't boot at 1t at 900MHz)

my cpu and memory scores dropped when it was at 2.7GHz 900MHz memory, weird, when i was running at 2.8GHz yesterday with the memory at 800MHz, the scores for memory and cpu were higher than even what i run now, but i cant get 2.8 to be stable.

looks like im at 2.6GHz to stay for this computer. i'll be building another in the near future, this one will go to my wife for her games.

theres no point damien , at the resolution you play at the difference in games would be so minimal its a waste of money , theres no point in spending more money on a cpu so that you can get good scores in 3dmark and software sandra when your cuurent cpu eats up games , you have to think about this logically , buying a new cpu when what you have is good , is a complete waste of money

a new GFX card would siut you much better

i really really want a new gfx card and i have £300 uk to spend on 1 but im trying to wait till vista is out as i dont want to buy a card like 8800 when i could get a 8900/8950 when vista is on market. every day i say im gona get a new card then 5min later i decide not to order it lol..

i ordered a 7900gto over a week ago and it never turned up and then i decided not to go through with it so in a way it was good that it dint.

my ram is ****in great as its o/ced amazing but i think im going to buy a new cpu before i get a new gfx card as my 6800gs card plays all games like f.e.a.r/Dark Messiah/JustCause....

... @1680/1050 and all settings maxed, so i can cope with my gfx at moment

when i get home after work, i think i'll try 2.7GHz, 900MHz memory again and see if the benchmarks in other programs increase, i only tested everst and it showed a dropped in performance.

so i'll try sandra, and all the 3d marks and see what difference it makes in scores, if it does increase i guess i'll settle at the 2.7/900 like your system is at. 2.6 is 5000+/5200+ speed, 2.7 should be very close to FX-62 scores.

honestly, i dont think you'll see any better framerates in the games if you get a better/faster processor, at this point the 6800GS is probalby the limiting factor and not the cpu, but i could be wrong, i dont know much about bottlenecking, someone can surely tell you though.

i want to get a new gfx card but im not sure weather to waist my money yet as my card runs all my games fine, also if i wait i will have sumat like £800 saved for when 8950 cards arrive, i also want a better cpu.

i have £300 saved at moment for a gfx card and about £200 saved for a cpu so...

i might get a new card and also a new cpu just answer a few questions first
    questions:

    1. how much can i get for my cpu
    2. when will the 8900 card be out (approx dates expected)
    3. when can we expect quad core amd cpu's

quad core amd cpu's arent scheduled till 3rd quarter 07, 1st quarter 07 the new AMD AM2+ cpu's will be out, the Kuma and the other one (forgot its name) at 2.7GHz and 2.9GHz, dual core, 2mb L2 and 2mb L3 cache, 4000MHz HT bus. i'll probably be building my next system on the 2.9GHz version with ATI's DX10 card.

ok heres what im gona do

1st - roguesn1per if u wanna buy my cpu just let me no
2nd - im gona wait a while to see where the g80 card go and see what they bring out as i want 8900/8950 cards
3rd - depending on if i can sell my cpu i will get a am2 6000+ or equivalent or wait for quad core if i cant sell it

my graphic card runs all my games i play @1680/1050 with all settings maxed and it will last me for a bit longer as long as they dont bring crysis out tomoz lol, so i can cope with my card for the time being, and i could get the rest of my system sorted like a new case/1000w psu/and a 2nd hdd

the new parts i want are:

-Thermaltake VA9003BWS Kandalf Full Tower £160 uk
    -Enermax Galaxy 1000W EGA1000EWL £234 uk
    -Western Digital Raptor 150GB WD1500ADFD 10,000RPM SATA 16MB £168 uk

    then i could get.....

    -2x sli nvidia 8950
    -quad core 3ghz +

what do u all this of my setup i should have by april 07 as long as all the parts come out as they are suspected

:) sounds like you'll have one insane fast system when you get it all together.

after more tweaking ive settled at 2.7GHz, 245x11, with memory at 4-4-4-12-2t 900MHz.

cpu scores went up by a decent amount, and at 4-4-4-12-2t at 900MHz, memory is only ~50MB/s slower than 866 at 4-4-4-12-1t. so everything is working good as it is now. running prime 95 for 30mins with an ambient temp of 27c (or 80f) the cpu got to a max of 49C at full load, and idle is between 33-37C at same ambient temp.

    yes it s memory related

you prob dont have it, its only for certain RAM.

hi mate ive got my cpu to o/c at 2.8ghz

but when i run super pi stress test it turns off my pc after 20min just before it ends the test so i guessing it can handle the o/c ok but needs more voltage...

..here what i have is set up as

    cpu fsb = 250
    ht = x4
    cpu multi = 11x
    cpu volts = 1.456
    ram volts = 2.10

    cpu o/c = 2.75ghz
    ram o/c = 460mhz (920mhz effectiveness)

    or

    cpu fsb = 230
    ht = x4
    cpu multi = 12x
    cpu volts = 1.456
    ram volts = 2.10

    cpu o/c = 2.76ghz
    ram o/c = 460mhz (920mhz effectiveness)

with both of these setting my pc boots fine and after running the super pi test they both turn the pc off after about 20min's of funning the test.

ive allready got my cpu to run @ 2.7ghz stable but if i push it too 2750/2760mhz (2.8ghz) i get a few problems so will turning the voltage up work
