Just because someone complained about missing information on a german forum, I think the most recent version can (as always?) be downloaded from here or using the integrated update feature.

Great! Seems to work flawlessly overdrive 3 with overvolt ... but i think overdrive (i'm pretty sure ati's Overclocker utility use overdrive) can control also 2d frequencies so to have also underclock/unrdervolt possibilities that is IMHO the major goald on x1800-x1900.
Ray Thank you for this new great release. I think it took you a lot of time to discover ati overdrive!

P.s: With Overclocker, setting a 2dmode at lower than default frequencies brings no freq reset on overlay (video) usage.

    Ray, there's a bug.

High quality AF does not work in OpenGL.
I set the option and it does not check.

But, setting high quality AF in direct3D makes it check in OpenGL too, but it is not using HQ AF in openGL :(

In game profiles, the checkbox works, but it does not apply it in main ATT when the game starts, too.

It also does not work in previous build.

Heck, does HQ AF work at all in OpenGL ? Is it supposed to ?.....@_@

Ray I have a problem.I can't move MEM and GPU sliders in Overdrive 3, only the GPU voltage works for me.Also current clock shows 000.I've attached pic of this. There is no difference if ATI services are enabled or disabled.

Yay just what ive been waiting for..... well done Ray

Now if only you could find a way to do mem volts hmmmm :D

Must be a way , because mem volts are changable with the ati clocker

    See for yourself bud

2 React - Do your board has support for Overdrive? Can you check it with CCC? I don't think that it is possible for 1600Pro. I have the same board and there are no Overdrive support. Also you can check it in System Information in Hardware menu.
    _______________
    News about next release :)
At this moment I'm finishing adding new method of overclocking for R5xx boards. This method will be called "Driver Level".
    What will do this method:
    1. Overclocking will be done by Catalyst itself like Overdrive
    2. Voltage will be applied by driver for GPU and by ATT for memory
    3. ATT will emulate Overdrive job, but will allow to set clocks when you want it instead of when you run full screen 3D application.
    4. This should work even if you didn't disable ATI HotKey poller! And clocks will not resets by that service in 3D games
    5. With this method clocks will not resets when you play any video files (checked on my 1800XT, no more resets) :)
    6. More stable overclocking. Catalyst know HOW to do overclock job better that any other utils :)
    ________
I hope this method will work without problems, but there are some disadvantages:
    1. It seems that this method can be used only on video boards with Overdrive support (I will check it with non Overdrive board 1600Pro)
    2. The step in MHz will be higher than in Low Level ( about 6MHz)

Something is not right. The fanspeed is inverted.

When I manualy set the fan to let say 80%, after apply it says 20% and the fan actualy goes to 20% (set it to 100%, apply, the fan stops = 0%). So to be save I set the fan to 20%, apply results in 80%. After reboot it is ... 20%. So it keeps inverting. Makes this feature kind of a nasty kill the GPU feature.

When setting the fan dependend on GPU temp the same applies. Starting from 0% I have 20% fan (real fan is at 80%, the monitor is at 80% as well). When the GPU heats up under load the intended fan values are increasing, the actual fan and monitor reading are decreasing accordingly. Very nasty indeed.

When I switch from manual speed to GPU dependend the fan stops for a short moment (100% speed in the monitor) then the fan speed goes to the inverted intended speed.

    Here are the specs:
X1600 Pro 256MB AGP, ATI 6.8 with CP (NGO)
ATI TT 1.2.6.940 (had the same issue with the .930)

When you need any additional info, please ask.

(ps: I also run ATI Tray Tools on a X800GTO, no problems there, same driver)

Ok, nowt happened :( Even with the services running I couldn't get any game to go into 3D mode :S

Even using a normal, unedited Shortcut.

Does the ATI service have to running or not?

Ill do some more tinkering tomorrow.

    Yea, I guessed now :p

Ill have another go tomorrow morning.

2ndly, Ray, will you have 2D control? As I can knock off quite alot of power usage at 400/476 @ 1/1.950V. And as the PC is on 24/7 its a must have feature.

Finally, if you say it works on your X1800 does that mean you are close to it being complete? I have a free sunday and would gladly spend it giving feedback :) ;) ;)

Anyway, continue with the good work, we're nearly there!!

Im glad he does have an X1800XT :evil2:

    Nearly there for sure..

Mem volts would be great in overdrive!

RAY , would it be possible to have a SEPERATE fan control away from the hardware settings section?

So for Overdrive seems to be working as good as CCC does.

    Better!!!!

Just needs mem volts and fan control , seperate from hardware control

    Its nearly perfect :arnie:

If the overclocking will be done by the Catalyst driver does that mean the memory timings will change (relaxed) like they do when using CCC?

    Hey all, I'm a bit confused here. I've got a X1900XTX.

I just installed 940 and I still have no control over my mem voltage when OCing in low-level mode. It just won't change. I installed it in the I2C compatible mode -- does this have anything to do with it?

Also, when applying clocks through low-level mode, they STILL reset to 2D when watching a video file and have to be manually reset.

Overdrive works fine, though. Just as well as Riva Tuner, but with voltage control. Still, I'd rather use low-level mode as it's faster overall. That clock-resetting issue needs to be fixed, though.

Hey neilsouth, nice to see you over here. :hatty:
