Thumbs up remove the bloody SECUROM forever! finally - 11-07-2006, 21:07 | posts: 2,239 | Location: Around The World | User is Offline

SECUROM is garbage and we know it, is not as bad as STARFORCE but hey it's still a rootkit.

wanna clean your system from Securom forever?
trust me IT WORKS!

you have stopped the Securom service, you deleted the directory that is hidden under your username....but that registry key is a nightmare....right?
SECUROM adds to the registry what is commonly called a NULL Registry Key, this means it bypass all OS protection and you cannot delete it in any way, not in SAFE MODE, not by giving Permission. nothing will work.
removing the bloody KEY is everyone's nightmare cause you cannot remove it without format.....but here it comes the rescue!

1. get this registry cleaner...

http://www.shura.totalcmd.net/download/trashreg.zip

2. install or run it

3. click FILE , then click on FIND KEYS WITH NULL - EMBEDDED NAMES

4. it'll show you the SECUROM - CANNOT DELETE ME key

5. just delete the key

6. DONE!

Warning: removing Securom will make your Securom games stop working unless you get a NOCD cracked or something but i guess you already know that.

enjoy.

yep indeed, there used to be a software named RegDelNull by Sysinternals but that doesn't work anymore with Securerom 7 so that new registry finder above is a godsend. works perfectly.

Google "Games protection list" and you'll get more than you asked for!

Tomb Raider Legend for example, uses Securom 7 and FEAR does to.

I saw on another forum that NWN2 and Dark Messiah are also using SECUROM 7.

I really wanted to buy those two games, but not anymore until the protection is replaced with something more acceptable.

you can always use a cracked .exe version available on the net since they're stripped from any security rootkit.....but i don't recommend that at all unless Securom or Starforce are killing your pc, besides your online game might not work anymore and the cracked exe could be compromised (virus).

i know i shouldn't talk about these things (im not giving links to cracks anyways) but it's all for the good of knowledge and ultimately the choice is yours.

The post may be but the forum is not, lol.

Not sure what it is you say is blocked ? Is it just the link to trashreg.zip you need.

I can't vouch of the content other then to say i scanned it and didn't find anything bad.

bitta thread necromancy here =]

i installed M2TW Kingdoms today and am worried I'll get Securom now. I installed it on an external hard drive so I don't know whether I have anything to worry about or not, an answer with regards to that would be great.

Also, when I follow the steps to actually get rid of it the first key to come up says "!CAUTION! NEVER DELETE OR CHANGE ANY KEY"
The creation date is roughly the time I installed Kingdoms but I don't know that it's Securom for sure. Is this the one I need to get rid of or is it just some kind of genuine warning? Cheers

I've been trying to install medieval II kingdoms for the past week and can't. I don't have the original anymore just my backups (thanks to my little girl) and keep getting a securom error when trying to install. Anyone have any ideas on bypassing this.
