Upgraded my bios to the latest version - V.50
Had lots of bugfixes, so looked like a good bet.

Works fine and all.. But once I loaded windows, all my devices reinstalled themselves, and a new one sprouted up.. Windows had no idea what it was, just listed as unknown, can't not find driver for it.

So I re-installed the latest nforce 4 drivers, 6.66. This helped a bit, and listed the unknown device into raid controllers, checking out it's properties lists this:
Device Instance Id
ACPI\_NVRAIDBUS\3&2411E6FE&0

So it's a raid controller, but I don't use raid. I point it to the exacted raid drivers manually, but no go. Here is the erorr message after it attempts to load the driver:
The installation source for this product is not available.
Verify that the source exists and that you can access it.

Indeed it exists and I can access it. All the files listed in the inf are in the folder 6.66/IDE/WinXP/pataraid
Also I tried every other folder and inf, incase it was sataraid.

Nothing worked.
This device also shows up in my other windows installation, so it is the bios and not error with windows.

You need to disable the Raid controller in your Bios. When you flashed your Bios it resets itself to the Default settings which would enable almost all the mobo's features.

yeah that's true updating the bios resets the everything, i had the same problem with asus motherboard just starting off with it, and cound out that the raid controller in my bios was called "Promise Control" and had to disable it, not sure if yours will be the same name though.
