Default HL2 making me nauceous - 11-20-2004, 12:09 | posts: 50 | User is Offline

Is it just me or is this game making me nauceous. AFter about 30 minutes of playing it, i start getting really dizzy so i have to stop playing. Are there settings that will stop this. Keep in mind i'm an avid fps gamer. games like UT2k4, farcry doom3, regular cs don't do this to me. Its just this game that is making me really dizzy. One of my other friends who is also a hardcore gamer is having the same experience

Try VSync. Used to know a guy that had probs playing games with it off.

That or you might just be getting motion sickness. If VSync doesnt help go to a pharmacy in your area and talk to one of the people there about it. They may have more suggestions for you.

yeah i get it too this is the only game its happens with. Yesterday i played it for 5 hours started getting sick in the 4th hour i think it has to do with the lack of up and down movement while walking or running, you just kinda glide around, also the air boat seems to really bring it out sooner.

No, seriously, i never heard of people being sick because of a game. Maybe there's a virus in the game?

Wow, this is very interesting... i mean it maybe the weather! Were nearly towards the end of Autumn and going into Winter... and its getting pretty cold!

But the odd thing is that people get sick and dizzy usually in hot climates! So it cant be that!

I think we should file a suit againt Valve... LETS SUE THEM! For causing a large number of gamers to get nauceous!

It sounds like motion sickness. Try reading a book in a car on a winding road....same effect.

NO its not that i am weak did you even read my freaking post i play fps games all day. ALOT of ppl are experiencing the same problem. Its not vsync.. i have it on. refresh set to 75 hz

Heres the explanation i found. Human field of view is around 180 degrees. Regular FPS shooters FOV are around half that. HL2 is even less at 75 degrees so it ****s with your head.
