Default 6800 Softmod works but now no Overclocking - 10-04-2004, 12:52 | posts: 261 | User is Offline

I just got the 6800 softmod to work 100%, thanks Unwinder, but now I have a problem, overclocking no longer works. I don't mean that I now get lockups or artifacts but I just plain and simply can NOT overclock. When I try to overclock or even underclock for that matter I can a message that says "The test failed to run at the specified clock frequencies." Any way to get around this? Anybody else having this problem? Thanks

I am actually having the same problem. Person on other thread posted to look in poweruser section under overclocking for a line about disabling the clock test. I did not see that line anywhere. Please post again if someone wouldnt mind where to find this info.

Power User Tab -> Nvidia/Overclocking -> DisableInternalClockTest
set this value to 1.

What do the settings in that tab do such as EnablePerfLevelForcing? I don't have any values for these settings.

Hey Grizzy, Im running the 61.77 drivers. Perhaps its time to update them. Sounds like most are using 66.70

Apparently the 66.7s are primarily good for benchies + Doom 3. They'll lower performance for older games (supposedly - I don't use 'em) and they've got a few bugs. Personally I use 65.73, which I find to be stable, reliable, and WHQL to boot.
