there was a similar thread trying to find out what the meaning was too. can't find it now. but i found this on google. seems to stand for Allied Telesyn International http://www.free-definition.com/ATI.html

well the reason why i siad that is because i also posted on that old thread and i had proof.

btw i was mistaked though its ati technologies incoperated.

the proof i have is in there copyright.

in copyright things, they have to dispay the full company name. so i was partial right.

Obviously it IS an acronym. I think that's pretty self-apparent.

It means SOMETHING, whatever it's an acronym for has either been abandoned as the official company name since it was founded in 1985, or it was simply an acronym for some kind of "inside" joke or slogan among the company founders.

They didn't just choose three random letters from the alphabet to name their company.
Gimme a break.

never mind. i just found out that site was wrong and it doesn't stand for allied telesyn international. guess we will never know what it means really... the mystery of ati...
