Question How much have you over clocked your video card? - 05-31-2004, 11:20 | posts: 875 | Location: Perth, Australia

I'm just wondering how much people have over clocked their video cards.

I have overclocked my 5950 to
490
967

I'm thinking of doing abit more, but I'll see what other people have done first.

My 5900 Ultra in my second computer is clocked at 503/961 right now. I also have a Thermaltake Giant III cooler instead of the stock cooling on it as well.

You sould easily get to 500/1000 with that card, i got to 496/996 but due to me overclocking the rest of my PC i was getting more problems and clocked down lower.

Yeah i'm going to overclock it to 500/1000 tonight.
When I overlocked it that little it raised my benchmark to over 16000.

my 9800 pro can do 450/410 nicely vga silencer and OCZ copper RAM sinks on it considering a volt mod when I get some money and can afford to buy a new card if it all goes wrong

I run it at 412/365 (XT stock speeds) for day to day use, including games, cus it doesnt really need any more than that to play anything with full settings

Looks like you've got a good overclocker there.

I guess I could push my 9800pro further, but anything over 440gpu, and rthbribl: http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/rthdribl/ Starts to artifact a little..

Vmods coming soon.

I just overclocked to 500/1000 and its running nice. Not heating over 40 Celcius when playing games.

It also raised my benchmark about 100 more points.

Gecube 9600XT Extreme 128mb

Stock, 500mhz/350mhz(700mhz ddr)

Overclocked, stock cooling, 580mhz/400mhz(800mhz ddr)

But this is the absolute max ive reached, it seems to be a bit iffy with the driver versions and the outside temperature. I might try turning up the AGP voltage next time, see if that helps.

What are you guys using to test your o/c's?

I've been using rthdribl:http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/rthdribl/ And 3DMark03's mother nature test to check core clocks, and 3DMark2001's nature test @ Max AA & Aniso to test memory o/c.

Seems to work out ok, but rthdribl detects artifacts at much lower clocks than any games/apps I've tried..
