thats normal, your pc will always take a couple of even 1mb of that memory to run other applications...this is for only when it boots up the system though.

whatever the case, its normal....out of the 512mb ive got mine only boots up 510 so its normal.

ehr, from what i know it's totally normal that the memory doesn't get displayed totally accurate, it's nothing i would be worried about, maybe you can download a memtest program(just google for it) and if it doesn't give errors, don't worry

it may be shared on an onboard video device, if you haven't got onboard it may be used as a buffer

I have several 875p machines here at work that report 510 MB, no apparent reason. I wouldn't worry about it...

hmm... this is quite normal ... i have the same problem (isnt really a problem anyway) your chipset keeps 1 mb away for bios, buffering, etc.. it also occurs when u have integrated stuff on your motherboard (sound card, lan, video card (should take more memory) )

If it shows correct in system properties then I wouldnt worry about it.. you can use memtest86 to test to see if memory is stable.. My systems have always showed the full amount so im not sure..

on my system it reports exactly 1024MB. on my old pc it reported 524MB. the ram however was only 512MB. the system seemed stable.

When I had 512MB it said 511MB, don't worry about it. Now that I have 1GB of RAM is says actually 1026MB instead of 1024MB. Not sure why, but 1MB isn't going to make a difference of anything.
