i got a sound blaster live 4.1 and i recently bought a 5.1 creative set the problem is that the central speaker wont work do i have to change the card

lol yes because as the name suggests, a 4.1 soundcard only supports upto a 4.1 speaker set. I suggest you go out and buy a SB Live! 5.1 or something similar. Then all your speakers will work because you will be able to plug rear, front and centre speakers all into the card at once.

Unfortunate, but true.
Your options are to get a soundcard that can do 5.1, remove 1 speaker and make it do 4.1 (dunno if rewiring or shifting plugs around is required) or buy exchange your 5.1 speakers for a 4.1 setup.

10x but another problem arises should i buy a new sound card just for one speaker?

well, if you got an audigy for example, theyre not that expensive and as well as being able to use all ya speakers you would then get better quality sound too.
