Question Explain To Me What 3d Stereo Is - 10-21-2003, 23:29 | posts: 413 | Location: United Kingdom

Hmm... I'm a little confuddled, I know what 3d is but how can you play games in 3d? Is there any screenshots of some sort that show the game being played in 3d because I am interested in this stereo goggle technology. I have never looked into it before now, what are the benefits of gameplay and is there any other good things besides playing games with them?

Simply go to the Stereo section from the main page of Guru3D ( http://www.guru3d.com/stereo/general/ ) you will learn what stereo is, how it is done.
For uses beside gaming, it is used in 3D model making (check out the more expensive cards from 3DLabs) can be used in medicine, molecule design...

Thanks for the link, that has helped quite a lot.
I like the ideas of this stereo 3d thing, is there any brand that you advise I should purchase and tell me about any experiences you have had with. I would prefer it if they are quite good ones and at a good price.

Price is not very nice though $20,000
Thats a shame, maybe in 300 years it will be affordable.

Seriously, the edimensional ones are great, and I picked mine up of ebay for £20 !!! bargain

I've not tried them yet with my Radeon, but the 3d effects using my old geforce3 ti2000 was stunning.

I used it with F12002 and the depth of the 3D image made the game come to life !

Highly recommended!

System Requirements for Gaming:
Windows PC 95/98/ME/2000/XP
CRT monitor (no laptops or LCD screens)

CRT Looks like I can't use these, are there any alternatives for LCD use?

As far as i know, LCD can't be used with any glasses because of the refresh rate. Also, if you can't use glasses, you can use 3D Stereo LCD monitors (But most can't afford these )
Also someone reported about 3D Stereo laptops.
