Default No Open Gl games work Just shifts image - 09-06-2003, 17:32 | posts: n/a

I have the E-Dimensional glasses. All my games that have a choice between Open GL or D3D, If I pick D3D they work great. But when I try to use OpenGL setting all it does is split the image cant dial it in to make it 3D like the D3D.

Can anybody in this forum who have the E Dimensional glasses tell me if they get the Open GL to work with there glasses?

I read a thread here where someone said it was missing "sysopgl32.dll" THIS IS NOT MY CASE. I dont get a error I can get into the game such as Nascar 2003 in Open GL and when I get out on the track and use my hot keys to dial it in it just off shifts the image. Cant get it to the 3D look.

Have a Pentium 4 2.2 512cache processor
MSI motherboard (Sis Chipset)
512 Mb of DDR 333 Ram
Gefore 4 TI 4600
Running Win XP Prof SP1
Nvidia 44.67 Drivers
Nvidia 44.03 Stereo drivers.

Well when i use them with my OpenGL games it works great.
However try to the 44.03 drivers with the 44.03 Stereo or the 45.23 with their corresponding ones.
If that doesn't help, use RivaTuner and then go to the "Power User" tab and then to the "nVIDIA Detonator =driver ver= OpenGL" Line and click at the cross infront of it. Then scrool down untill you find "OGL_APIStereoMode" and then click to the box next to it and choose "Shutter glasses"

I have the same setup and get exactly the same problem. Works with D3D but not Open GL.

When in an Open GL game you can use the hot keys to change gamma settings ect and when you try to alter the stereo seperation it justs shifts the image.

Will try the riva thing and report back.

Default Dont see a "SHUTTER GLASSES " choice. - 09-08-2003, 15:46 | posts: n/a

I had 44.03 video and a 44.03 stereo driver no help for the Open GL. Tryed the 45.23 Video and the 45.23 Stereo still no fix.

Note the newest Riva doesnt support the 44's or above.
But still went to power user and found the line Openglapistereo like you said but when I click in the box it just gives me a blank spot to put a hex or numeric value. There was no choice for shutter glasses. Am I doing this wrong????

Plus I dropped the video driver to the 43.51 and the stereo to 43.03 since the Riva supoorts the 43's and still cant figure out were to say "Shutter Glasses." Once again could you give me more detail what your doing in that Power User Tab that Im not

I noticed you have a AMD I have a Pentium 4. My chipset is a Sis 645DX on a MSI Motherboard. Just a thought. When I called Edimensional they said it should work with Open GL. Hell I dont get it.

Buy the way I tryed there created driver and had to put the opengl32.dll in game folders where the executible is. Sure I got the open gl to work that way but it was A0 Big hassle and B0 it looked like ****. They want you to run at 60 Hz then when the game loads with there driver set up it then doubles you refresh giving you the 120 Hz at the 1024x768. But it looks like ****. Boy I dont know how they came up with that scenario. Damn I just rather deal with the D3D instead of dealing with there backassward method.

OK, I tried the riva tuner and open gl worked as long as you ran Riva Tuna first.

However I installed a new graphics card the other day and it stopped working alltogether.

I also tried the omega drivers and got the same problem. I'm going to remove Direct X 9 and put 8 back on and see if that resolves anything. Stevie did you sort yours out?

When you say another card, you mean from another company other than nVIDIA?
For any other cards, you should try the eDimentional drivers.

Did you change drivers, or did you leave the old ones and just changed the card?

I re-installed the Detonators + control Pannel.

After the Direct X backwards jump I am going to try the 45.33 then the 44.03 and if that doesn't work i'm going to rebuild the machine.

No I gave up. I believe the Geforce 4 Ti 4600 card I have is a different animal from the MX stuff or even the Ti4200.
Im not sure. I just read somewhere that the Ti 4600 was different. Note my Direct 3D and Open Gl games smoke without using 3D glasses. When I use the glasses Im satisfied with the Direct 3D mode ( except for the 40 sometimes 50 % FPS cut), but just cannot get the OpenGl Games to go 3D. Just shifts Image.

Any Ideas would be appreciated

The reason is 50% less is because it's displaying twice the amount of images and is expected. Just a case of tweaking your machine to get the best performance out of it.

I don't like E-Dimensional. Now thats just me. I have 4 diff 3D's and the E-D's are not the best. You can get the same or better for 1/2 the price. Not to long ago I bought the MSI 3d for $30 with shipping and so far they are the best. People really need to just look around.

As for the people with ATI well there stuck because E-D KNOWS there the only ones that have the drivers.

So all I am trying to say is don't give up. It justed might be the E-d and not the card. I have TNT-fx5900 and every card works great with 3D.
