Default Static stereo images on the internet - 08-18-2003, 05:06 | posts: 369 | Location: Canada, In a Igloo

To those that have ED glasses:

How can I view 3d pictures on the internet?

Most of the stuff is Interleaved but the problem I have is that I cannot get my glasses to start when not in a game or more preciselly full screen game

I installed the ED Controller and when I go to a page with 3d images that are interleaved I set in the controoler to interleaved, turn stereo on from the same spot then I see this yellow bar at the top of the monitor the screen flickers once and nothing!

I tried this with my native rez of 1280x960 and lower ones like 1024x768 both at 16bit and 32bit.

Also another weird thing is that with the stereo viewer from nvidia I can look at the stereo files only in 16bit pageflipped. As soon as I go to 32bit the image switches to interleaved and the glasses don't even start!.

And one last thing: Is there a way to change the refresh rate of the nvidia viewer cose the image flickers like crazy!

Are you goggles wireless or wired?
If they are wireless don't forget to turn them on by using the button on them. Also, if for some reasson they still don't work when you press it, take the batteries out, and then put them back in.
If they are the wired version, unplug them, and put them back in.

It's the wired version. When you say unplug them and put them in do you mean with the comp on?

I did... no effect. Maby it would help if you replied with the steps you take to view a website in 3d?

Here's one: http://www.stereovision.net/toxicx/s...3d2/its3d2.htm

Well, that site uses a Java uplet. You MUST have the Java2 and Java3D for it to run. (You can get them either from that site or from SUN's website.)
Now, if the Applet works ok and it loads up, it shows the left and right images next to each other. To view them in the "shuter glasses" mode you have to go to "View" then to "Shutter Views" and then chose "Left first".
Then start the E-D activator and set it to "Interlaced mode".

Use the E-D activator in Interlaced mode and try to see the image below in stereo mode. (Btw, if the image doesn't seem ok, like things are in the wrong depth, just use "Stereo-Reverse" in the E-D activator.)

You are wrong; partially. You need Java 3D only if you want to view the images in page flipped mode. When everything (Java2 and Java3d) is installed correctly you should have another option appear under shutter glasses and that is "page flipped" The fact that you don't see that means you don't have somthing installed right or it plain don't work like in my case (if I go to about and open the java console it tells me that it detected java3D but when it tries to initialize it says something is missig) thus no page flipped for me.

Now to the second point: Interleaved should still work for me like it does for you! But it doesn't. I even tried it with your picture and nothing. When I turn stereo normal on or stereo reversed here's what appears on my screen.

That rainbow bar at the top is what happens, then it dissapears. The glasses stay dead

All games however work flawlessly.

For the "Page Flipped" to work i think you first need to be in full screen mode. (that Java app has it i think).

Ok. Here is the last thing that popped into my mind. Activate the E-D activator and then right click on it. Then go to properties and then at the "Settings" block make sure that at "Hardware" you have the "H3D Gamer" selected. If it is allready selected and still can't work... then i think Mr. Nathan at E-Dimentional should start working ...
(Also visit E-Dimentional just in case there is an update for the app.)

OK I got the latest version of the activator - 2.4 and still the same thing. How do you get "H3D Gamer" in the settings?
