When viewing the computer screen in stereo 3d why do things tend to shift to either side when you physically move your head to either side?
That is, if your viewing a picture of mountains in the distance and you move your head to either side the mountains tend to shift to the side also, just a little.
Why does the picture shift at all? It's a very minor thing. But kinda wierd.

Also, I noticed something else. I play Descent-3 in stereo 3d. I love that game in stereo. But, after awhile it seems like its no big deal in stereo. Until you try to go back to 2d which looks absolutely AWFUL after having got used to true stereo 3d. You get so used to something its like "Ho hum. Big deal". Then you try to go back to 2d and you can't. 2D just looks so flat and cartoon like! Isn't there a psychological term for this?

Here is something absolutely not to do! LOL. Never turn your head sideways while viewing stereo 3d with shutter glasses. It will totally give you a headache! I did this just to see what would happen. The image losses all 3d (because it was meant as a left and right image) and it really messes with your eyes.
It reminds me of the old HeHaw joke about the bumpkin going to see the doctor.
"Doctor, it hurts when I do this" says the bumpkin moving his arm in a wild manner.
"Then don't dooooo that!" replies the doctor, hitting the bumpkin over the head with a rubber chicken.
LOL.

Well, because your eyes still see the same image, while you move. (While it should change angle of the objects you see. Intead, you see the same image while the distance of your eyes from where you focus changes.)

About Descent, i guess its because of just getting used to it.
JUST when you get used to Stereo in a game, INCREASE the separation and play with the convergence setting.
