Default Cooling advice for my A7N8X - 07-09-2003, 18:43 | posts: n/a

I just bought myself a A7N8X with Barton XP2500+.

I'm REALLY eager to install it, but I also want to do some overclocking, so I wondered what cooling system/paste etc. Would you guys recommend??

And should I get a better cooling for the onboard chip? And if yes what kind of cooling??

Not better, but take the northbridge heatsink off, scrape off the paste they have there and replace it with AS3 or something better.

And then put the heatsink on again?? Or should I change it for a fan or something ??

Oh and by the way, I also have a Chieftec Dragon case with 4 extra slots for Fans. What fans are recommended??

Put it back on again.

Any four 80mm fans that you like would work in those fan brackets

Ah oki... Thnx

Is there some quiet fans that are recommended?? I am REALLY tired of that terrible fan noise from my PC..

It almost sounds like an Airplane ^_^

And of course I could use some advice about a CPU cooling system that is great too.. And silent of course ^_^

Airplane? I bet I have you beat. My case roars at 60dB 24/7

Check out here and you can sort fans by dB.

I'd recommend SLK-800U with a fan of choice.

If you have a big wallet then the Thermalright heatsinks are good, almost any of the SLK series.

I would recommend for an easy budget something like the Coolermaster X-Dream (HAC-V81) which has an adjustable fan and works pretty well.

My next suggestions is the heatsink I have, the Coolermaster HHC-001 which is also very good and includes a heatpipe which is awesome. My CPU stays pretty cool and it isn't too noisey, isn't quiet either. This heatsink I would highly recommend.
