OK. I have had a voodoo 3, and it has been a great couple of years, so I just got a Voodoo5 5500, from electronics boutique for $70. You can imagine my joy...anyway, When I play 3d games I get this weird graphic corruption. There are a whole bunch of very thin vertical lines going down the screen. The lines are usually red but sometimes green if it matters. They arent covering the entire screen, they like to group up in certain spots. I say 3d games because thats the only time I see the lines. It's weird because the desktop is fine. I tried Age of empires and diablo II and they both work fine. But I get the lines in Soldier of Fortune, Max Payne, and Counter Strike among others. Also weird - the lines aren't static, if i move the mouse, they will change position, get smaller/larger, and sometimes disappear.

I have tried the 1.04.00 & 1.04.01 drivers. I tried changing to standard vga adapter and reinstalling. Uninstall drivers. reinstall drivers. I changed the refresh rate. I used the card remover application to remove the registry entries from my voodoo 3. I tried changing settings in the games. I tried downloading the drivers from somewhere else. I dont have any DMA conflicts. Nothing works dammit! Could this be a card defect, maybe one of the chips on it is messed up. Please help me before my voodoo 5 becomes a piece of twisted metal under my stomping foot.
