Default Hercules 4000XT Pci problems with Direct3D - 11-27-2002, 15:36 | posts: n/a

Hello,
I have a rather annoying problem with my graphics card. The problem is when games trying to use direct 3d run. I found this out by going to the DXdiag utility and testing the driectDraw feature, which worked fine and then I tried the direct3d test button. This was when it happens, the spinning cube is visible, but is overlaid by vertical white flashing lines, that flicker constantly. Here is a screen dump of what it looks like:

From scratch I installed the default drivers, and then updated them to the newest driver. I also installed direct x 8.1, and I’m not sure but I think the problems started after I installed that. My graphics card is a Hercules 4000XT PCI 32mb.

Cheers in advance,

Steve Jack

i have almost the same problem with the same card. but instead of just lines it shows the object with the out side. just shows the shapes that uesd to make the object. if you have win xp, the problem is win xp does not support pci with direct x 8.1 .so then you should try uesing direct x 8.0 or wait until the direct x 9.0 releases. if not, thiers nothing i can't else i can do. go to www.hercules.com and e-mail them thats how i found out my problem. i wish i could help more. sorry.
