hey, i have a sony dcr-trv 18 and i wanted to use an external mic to record sound as the built in one is very tinny. i tried reading the manual but to not much help. does anyone know how to use another mic as the primary sound recorder?

just plug it in ..if it works like the other sony camcorders..then the plugged in mic overrides the built in.....

opps, wrong section hehe plugging it in doesnt work for me, but im still trying different things to get it to work..........
