While it is quite a large bump in performance we need a little more info from you.
What do you currently have core system wise?
    What games do you play?
    What resolution?
    What refresh rate?
What is your goal IQ wise?

    If you're playing at 2160p. I wouldn't otherwise.

Just tested 1080 Ti under water @ 2038 MHz and + 100 MHz on memory but in BF1 at 4K maxed out in settings, not enough. Wait for next gen card. I mean the card delivering very good performance but could be much better with a new architect .

Could you tell us more about your experience because 75fps average usually translates to not really lower than 57fps minimum.

If you can sell your 1070 and get money back then yes. That's what I did. You can easily max out every game at 3200x1800 and 3456x1944 which looks very close to 2160p(Personally, I can tell the difference a little at 3200x1800 and can't see any difference at 3456x1944 but then again my display upscales everything to 2160p). Of course some games can also be maxed at 2160p as well.

i made the exact same move 2-3 weeks ago, playing in 3440 x 1440, and i can say for this resolution it is totally worth it, while i was achieving good fps with the 1070, i coudlnt max out everygame to get the steady 60 fps mark, now im getting 100 fps most of the time in most game, for sure 80 fps . this makes me want to sell my dell 3415 to get a gsync 2k ultra wide now

Sometimes dips into 4x fps area. Maybe the CPU causing it but 4790K@4.7 should be enough. Anyway, when i got time a do a video with it. Most likely i will do it with single player mode. When i have seen those dips, happened on CQ 64 server. I think , guru also making the test on single player mode , which i kinda does not shows what is the situation in real world 64 players map.
    So, that is it.

Oh, and i DX 11 has been used. DX 12 causing micro lag, which is not good at all.
