https://blog.twitch.tv/coming-soon-twitch-games-commerce-6b646d832480#.wbxa2ahli So Twitch will come with their own client for games as well as a store. Totally not looking forward to this.
If they're just going to sell keys (it is Amazon after all) then it's perfectly fine. Yet another effin steam clone? Only a bunch of indies I probably won't care about will sign up for exclusivity so I don't care.
Figured that was going to happen. When Twitch Prime started last year they started giving out free stuff every month to members but you had to redeem it by downloading the Twitch launcher client to do so. Never bothered to do it.
Amazon wants all the money in gaming to go through them, they run what is the new style of gaming PR, now they want to sell them from there too. 10-12 year ago it'd be like IGN or GameSpot adding a retail section/client to their site. Anyway, can't say amazon wanting to turn twitch into a retailer (and likely a supplier like steam too) surprises me. The little kids feeding that site might even embrace it with their twitch affiliated/financially dependent influencers telling them what to think in favor of their employer/income source. And options are good anyway, though tying entertainmentPR and sales like that is dodgy af.
I wonder how much of their audience is the type to only want to watch games instead of playing it. South Park had an episode about them, might be a lot of kids I guess.
and..more expensive for..quality services that they will provide..c mon..as long as it's just a matter of choices, sure why not, let them begin and see how it goes.
Amazon allows 3rd party sellers on their site already. As long as that is allowed, there will always be scammers.
