GTX 1060 6GB still worth it or anything else due out (or prices falling)?

I'm thinking about getting a GTX 1060 6GB but the prices seem very static and haven't really fallen at all, is there anything new out which might push the prices down? The RX480 prices are falling but the NVidia prices are rock solid.

A 480 might be a better investment depending on the games you play, at least if you don't mind going with AMD anyway. I don't think there's anything due out other than Vega (which I think is higher end anyway) in a few months.

I'm not a fan of AMD, admittedly it's been 10+ years since I last used them and had no end of problems. My friend has carried on buying them because they are 'good value' except he also constantly crashes out of games when we play so that's put me off. I'll keep an eye out for a GTX 1060 hopefully by the end of the month.

TBH I don't really even game anymore, the last thing I got was BF4 which I didn't realise was 3 and a half years old now, so I guess I'm not big on gaming. However my GTX 570 is 6+ years old now and definitely uses more power and produces more noise as well as performing (relatively) poorly.

If I get a GTX 1060 I'd be looking at it lasting me 3-5+ years really.

When I bought my GTX 1070 8 gb i got back into gaming more. I seen a massive improvement from the Asus R9 280 cu2 3gb I had and runs everything.

I bought my son a 4gb sapphire nitro rx 480 and it runs at 1400mhz stable stock voltage. Pretty damn good card. Zero issues

My "Friend" got AMD card and his whole town exploded and F$CkInG killed 1000+ people.
I can't understand why AMD keeps on killing people!!?
Or maybe there something wrong with users brain?

EDIT: If I were to buy GPU now for 1080p, look for whatever cheaper. AMD480 or GTX1060. Both great cards and will do fine for HD gaming.

I think nv will lower GTX1060 once AMD releases Polaris refresh RX580 ~18th April.

    Edit:
about AMD, imo it was bad at times, but its not anymore, I saw nv with more bugs lately..

    This one looks interesting

    I'd also take a 480 over a 1060 ATM unless you can stretch for a 1070.
