That seems like a reasonable number.

Processor prices are also really fair here - there's a tiny premium on the 499$ price (after including danish VAT of 25%), but it's not RX 480 levels of price inflation or anything like that.

I'm about to build a new PC for my son. I think one of these RyZen setups will do very nicely indeed. If these perform as good as initial leaks, then this is going to be a win win for everyone (except Intel, this is)

Indeed a very Ryzenable number :D

I wonder if the notebook parts will be able to match intel's low power consumption.

I just hope they ship notebooks with something different than APU's.

Lol? Why? In case of notebooks there is very small market for high performance dGPUs.

AMD will give us Ryzen APU 4C/8T + 12NCUs (768SP GPU). Paired with DDR4 it will be pretty good jump from current APUs.

I personally hope for 12", high performance AMD notebook which wastes no space inside and therefore has good battery.
I do not even care if top Ryzen APUs eats 45W.

    I found a 24h preorder offer with 75€ off.
1700X for 365€ was just too good, preordered.:nerd:

Tbh, i'm just curious to see if they can stack up to intel's mobile counterparts.

Very likely. Those few good APUs were very close to competitive already. And that was on 28nm. Only issue was that manufacturers did put 15~25W APUs into very big notebooks. What's 15W APU in 15" notebook good for? What's 25W APU in 17" good for?

Those APUs could have been in 11~12" notebooks. +boards were pretty bad, even when there was no dual graphics, board was still too big and wasted space.

Intel definitely puts more power hungry chips in same sized notebooks than AMD did. And I did not like it at all.

Anything under 14" is annoying to use, personally.

I'd rather a lower power 10~15w apu in a slim (1" thick is fine) 14" or 15" with a large battery. This would also allow for a better cooling system vs a 'netbook' system, so less noise.

Performance just has to be a quick dual core with a good amount of ram.

I'm all onboard the Ryzen train, even with insignificant price drops from Intel, there's still no significant reason to upgrade my 5820k unless I go 6900 which is still ridiculously priced with the cuts at $999.

Unfortunately, I'll have to wait until 2ndH '17 for the 300 series chipset to build a Ryzen rig. I'm ITX all the way.

Well, size is matter of preference. But you should know that 10W is easily kept in check by completely passive cooling.

And my preference is "no dead weight". And not even intel has quick CPUs on 15W.

So it is funny. As you are annoyed by small devices as they are bit harder to work with. And I am annoyed by large devices which refuse to work as they have poor CPUs.

But I think you would not get 14" ultrabook with Atom. Yes, Atoms are 10W TDP chips.

It's crazy to think about the next several months, talking about sometime in 2018, these prices will be even cheaper for these Ryzen cpus with the performances you get. Holy smokes.

I really like the sound of all these high performing Ryzen CPUs for comparatively cheap money in relation to Intel, but it is making me concerned that my recently built rig with 6700K is gonna become obsolete earlier because of it - in terms of future gaming, GPU upgrades, and 144Hz/144fps targets. I'm wanting my CPU to last at least 5yrs and one or two further GPU upgrades (well into the architecture following Volta).

Although none of us knows what the future holds, you will certainly get a few years out of your CPU.
