When i have gsync enabled GPU 1 (the one that has the monitor plugged in) has at least a 10% loss in scaling ingame. I ran firestrike a few times with it on and off and the difference can be seen (a 10% drop in graphics score) https://postimg.org/image/3uzckdn9v/ I didnt have this issue with my 980ti's Anyone know whats going on? vsync forced off in CP
That's a known issue that only seems to affect benchmarks. GSync + high refresh rate causes the issue. Try games instead and see if it causes issues there.
its affecting ingame too , BF1 for example one card in high 90's one low 80's , issue goes away with gsync off. I wonder if lowering refresh rate to 144 would help? Ill give it a go
Can you actually test the FPS difference? I get 99% GPU usage on both cards usually, but i will check a few games later. Pretty sure if you have Gsync on 85hz(or maybe it was 100hz) fixes the issue in firestrike, but any higher than that causes the issue to return. May be an internal bandwidth issue or something.
I have been looking into the fps and although there is an issue with BF1 the fps is pretty much the same either way. with gsync on i get for example 97% and 85% with it off i may get 80% on both cards , making the fps pretty much the same? In wildland beta or tomb raider the story is differant with gsync on its looking about the same as bf1 with gsync , but without gsync im looking at 98-99% on both cards in both games. Ive run the render test in gpu-z and im getting pciex16 3.0 on both cards , is that what you mean about a bandwidth issue? I thought maybe cpu wasnt up to the task but with wildlands and tomb raider running as they do i assume its ok?
By bandwidth limited i mean that it's something we might not be able to fix(hardware limitation or something). So in tombraider benchmark, are your FPS better with Gsync off or are you just getting higher utilization but same fps? Btw are you using a HB ( high bandwidth) SLI bridge?
Oddly in the tombraider benchmark scaling isnt good either with or without gsync , ingame though scaling is spot on without gsync at 98% . The only game im getting the same fps with gsync on or off is BF1 (but with the odd usage) , tomb raider and wildlands the fps is better with gsync off with near perfect scaling. After doing a bit of research i decided to bite the bullet and get the NVidia HB bridge with my second card , this one ... https://www.scan.co.uk/products/nvi...-spacing-high-bandwidth-bridge-for-geforce-gt
No i mean the HB bridge is fitted already Im sure the issue is related to GSync , unfortunately ive been spoilt and now cant game without it so ill just have to live with a few less fps Thank you for all the help Ive tried everything including numerous drivers , Im just going to start enjoying the cards instead of obsessing over every detail ha ha . The differance between 140fps and 150fps in BF1 isnt exactly noticable
Just took this off of the nvidia faq on gsync ............ Q: How does NVIDIA G-SYNC work with SLI? A: The NVIDA GPU connected to the display manages G-SYNC. SLI GPU setups work seamlessly with G-SYNC displays. No they bloody don't
