Is all up to you , if you want 8 cores 16 treads go for it as you will be future proofing your rig , also as you said , selling the current mobo and cpu on ebay can make that money back so not a big loss.

I see you have the upgrade itch :) , that upgrade bug bytes every one once in a while and won't let go. Don't hold back and do what makes you happy , you live only once. Go for it , do a nice Ryzen built and post lots of pictures ,later you can upgrade your graphics card To Vega or Volta

If you hesitate even a bit, you should at least wait for the proper reviews. After reading those, the hesitation should disappear, one way or another. Reviews and owner reactions.

Don't even think of selling your current system yet. Wait for Ryzen to come out and see how it performs in reality with the type of programs you use.

If you are mainly a gamer it will most likely be a waste of money and effort to replace your current system with Ryzen.

per core or stp will be 200less then 6700k probably bit more seeing he OC'ed If still play game that only care about STP and you need the STP 6700k will still be better.

Multicore performance it will much much better providing apps use them

    Atlest from everything I Seen.

I second this, also with OPs system it's not really a bad decision to go either way.

Waiting for proper benchmarks to happen will only be a week away, so I definitely recommend waiting till then.

It's going to be interesting next week, can't wait.

If your looking to use the PC for anything other than just gaming, ie. streaming, content creation etc then why not I guess, would be worth while. Otherwise wasted money imho. Can't wait to see what Intel hit back with myself!

Chill out ... next thing you know coffeelake might actually be competitive against AMD in both price and performance. Just wait until you need a feature or have a lot of performance problems.
