I will just leave this herehttps://cuttingedgegamer.com/program/ This seems like a direct competitor against no compromise gaming, Also the prices are actually semi down to earth example Gtx 1080 $80 a month x 12 not so bad at alhttps://cuttingedgegamer.com/program/l.
These lease to own companies are all scams. Don't use them. If you have $80 a month to spend on paying off your lease, then save that $80 for 7 months, go to the store and buy a 1080 yourself.
This is Very true! I was just saying these guys are a little cheeper then the previous company mentioned that's all. Its kinda a cool option to have if you wanted to try one out maybe for a month or so:>? I will be needing a Gpu upgrade soon so I am just keeping my options open.
You can buy almost anything this way and companies prey on people who just gotta have some new gadget or a full new set of furniture but don't have the money upfront or good enough credit to finance. Their business relies on people not being able to pay the monthly payment so they get back whatever you leased from them, plus whatever you already paid + some heavy fines. If you do end up being able to pay them then they made a ton of money off you anyways because you paid almost double what the retail price was. I knew someone a few years ago that bought aleased a PS3 from one of these places. By the end of the term they paid over $800
The only scenario I can see viable for these "lease GPU" companies is someone who wants to have a high end GPU like GTX1080 and return it when 1080Ti hit the market in March. (that's if they allow returning GPUs after no. of months without finishing the term).
so like some of those other "rental" "leasing" place that say 15$ week xbox one and if rent for year you get to keep it? in the end people endup paying more then its worth, cheaper to buy it with credit card and pay it off monthly. I never under stood these "rental"/"leasing" companies they are rip off most the time. Car lease can and general do end-up same way.
Why not give 2/3 of that money in credit card installments, actually own the card in between and be able to sell it at the end?
Like I said above, the majority of their customers are people who have bad credit and don't have credit cards or don't qualify for normal financing. These places are never a good idea. Same with those quick payday loan places. Their whole business model is banking on people defaulting on the contract.
These lease/rent companies is geared towards the user who upgrades every time there is a new card released. Or someone who needs a new gpu and can only afford to pay for it monthly.
Yes this is what the truth is I just did not want to be the one saying it. Many moons ago I worked for Rent-A-center now if there was EVER a company that rip's people off there you have it folks, lol.Every item in the store sells for tripple the retail price, I would set-up an entartainment system for someone one day and the next I was taking it apart on account of them missing a payment. You can only find such places in Lower/ Middle class neighborhoods. Same thing with Graphics you have people with no/money up front, Bad credit (me) so I see it being a liable option.
They have been around for awhile. I can't remember if I read about it here or another forum. More or less conceptually the same as renting a car.
Except you can't make any money on your investment buy selling the card to someone else when you are done with it.
