Ms would be the last people for me to 'Our vision is for Game Mode to optimize your Windows 10 PC for increased performance in gaming.' optimize my PC, they will just fck this up, mark my word.

Why don't they start of by allowing us control on 3rd party updates..

yea, they should share more technical detail about how it will work

if it work like disabling/halt background proggram, and "android-ish boost" that freeing ram... it wont be any good

also wonder if this really separate/ no relation to gpu driver
not rather increasing complexity gpu driver

This seems like a Windows 10 Store App, if it's the case then it's bad, because i can't use Windows apps with UAC turned off, which alone is already intrusive and consumes resources, so i don't see the use in my case for this.

I don't like UAC, so i rather have it off than run an App that increases performance by a minimal amount while having to deal with UAC.

You can turn off UAC in Windows 10 now. I believe the anniversary update did that. I have it off, store and apps work fine.

Desperate measures seeing how DX12 isn't giving as much performance boost as they been shouting about. UWP very rocky start with all the brains at MS..c'mon MS not some more BS. Get something that works, v.good quality checks and then roll it out. Not shouting about a job 10% done but works 100% in theory....drops mic...

    Well that's pretty good news.
Since I do some benchmarking with my old systems, it's quite noticable that sometimes, Windows Update kicks in the middle of games, affecting HDD Usage and Network usage in the middle of the benchmark, putting stuttering into open world games.

Not even to talk about their store apps that sometimes background tasks kicks in in the middle of the games like the groove searching tracks on the background or the news or weather trying to sync from time to time.

Might be transparent for most of the people here with SSDs or with good connections, but I am getting tired of doing a fraps log and randomly be affected by some process that kicks in for no reason making my benchmarks being innacurate.

I just hope at least that this disables the Windows update and app syncs and most background tasks
    Cheers

I feel like M$ gonna get crapped on no matter what they do.

case 1: Games actually get better performance cause m$ disabled lots of services that were consuming CPU resources. -> M$ getting bashed what and why about services. Why those exists?

case 2: Nothing changes, just a bit more free RAM. Might be helpful for older note PCs, but thats it. -> M$ getting bashed for not improving anything.

case 3: Magic. Suddenly games performance better. -> M$ is a hero. No bashing.

I just bought a xb1 pad to replace my old madcatz 360 one only to find out that you need AU build and you have to have Windows store apps enabled also.

If you fail to get windows store and don't update to a AU build then the pad won't even be recognized by the system.

Now that's a load of ****e. So i put it back in it's box and will continue to use the 360 pad which is plug & play.

    So much for supporting gamers.
