    Hello,
I recently purchased one MSI Armor gtx 1070 oc.
I have tried everything but this graphics card is not giving output to my Samsung 24"FHD monitor. My old zotac gts 450 2 GB graphics card is running perfectly fine. (connected 8 pin pci power to the gtx 1070/Pci E x16 port), updated bios and changed BIOS setting (PEG/disabling on board graphics) , reinstalled windows, tried to set up jumper in motherboard, changed HDMI cable. No success (fans of gtx 1070 are running) .. Is this problem anything to do with compatibility with my motherboard (H61 chipset).

    Current configuration
    Core i5 2320
    Intel dh61ww mobo
    Corsair cx750w bronze certified psu
    Hynet 4 GB RAM
    1 TB HD WD GREEN
Existing GPU zotac gts 450 2 GB DDR3

one local dealer has already suggested me that minimum requirement for gtx 1070 is h81 chipset.

You bought a 1070 to go with that CPU?

Damn, who told you that was a good idea?

Actually my system is 5 years old.. I am planning to upgrade my system one at a time.. This time I purchased graphics card.. Next month I was planning to purchase core i7 6700k.. I read in the net that my old mobo will support the gtx 1070..

Try a hdmi connection to a tv or a dvi connection to another monitor if you are already trying to use hdmi. Could be a bad connector. This shouldn't happen.

I have experimented changing and using adapters.. My query is that does it has something to do with compatibility with my h61 chipset.. Although I am planning to purchase new mobo, but I want to make sure that my current graphics card is working fine or should I return it to ebay. Because there is no functionality of checking this graphics card in another system at my place where I live..

So it doesn't work in 2 systems?

Probably faulty, unless you tried it in an ancient pc

That's what I wanted to confirm. Whether my ancient h61 (5 years old) mobo with pci x16 2.0 slot supports gtx 1070 or not.. If it supports then there is surety that this gtx 1070 is probably faulty. Could anyone confirm that possibility.? I am helpless (in order to verify this fact) here in my area.:bang:

There's no reason it shouldn't work, time to RMA the card or take it back to the store or whatever.

Newer bios can add compatibility to more devices.

If its not getting power(leave 8pin unconnected) it should give a long beep

Edit: he said he updated bios already so nvm.

Yes I inserted the new graphics card i.e. GTX 1070 in the same slot that was previously used by gts 450. And this new graphics card never gave output
