Over in the Asian countries there's quite a bit of speculation on the GeForce GTX 1050. Apparently there will be two models released, the regular 1050 with 2GB graphics memory yet also a 1050 Ti with...

Rumor: 4GB GeForce GTX 1050 Ti

so the 1050Ti "would be" more or less a 950 with 4gig...

if it stay at 110 Euro in MSI it would be a better option than the 1060 3gig for small rig.

Oh, I foresee some outcry to make the lesser GTX1060 "match" the 4GB available to the lower-end model (and remove 3GB models).

Normal 2gb 1050gtx could be ok as a physx gpu if its single slot.

It would be better than a 950, dispite specs being similar, there was a couple of inovations with Pascal regarding memory compression and CUDA Core efficiency, so I do expect it to go bite the GTX 960 performance instead of the 950.
    Will see :)

Only on nv side users will have 2 cards, one ofc for physxx.
Physxxx is already obsolete,Ageia was a good company long time ago.

    After 1 year Gtx 960 & 950 is obsolete,another 1 year Gtx 1060/1050 will become obsolete.
Haters gona hate, but the milk is too expensive and the cow obsolete. :)

    "Obsolete"

I have two friends that game daily on 750Ti's - none of them complain about the performance. Getting tired of seeing the same people post the same nonsense in every thread.

Well the way I see this is a GTX 950 with a bit of a clock and 2GB more vram.

of course with some new stuff :) i expect that too from a Pascal GPU.

hmmm... well... i haven't see for now a gtx 950 that once OC doesn't bite (and even for some go ahead) a regular 960 despite being a cut off GPU... :)

Eh, begs the question where those 960/970/1060/1070 TIs are :bugeye:

You wont hear complains about the 750ti because it was a proper (budget) gaming card and served its owners well, the 950 already chokes after only 9 months since I got it in "well" optimized games, don´t defend it, it is garbage.

lol for some reason I always end up buying games that have HW physx, I didnt know about 3-4 recent buys

And 2 out 4 almost need separate card for it, Single gpu isnt efficient enough (driver and engine code) and choaks it with gpu usage drops.

Well 1050 is a low end card anyway and if its single slot I dont mind it in the case to play a game here and there..

Well there is a difference if someone expects too much out of a budget card like your 950.. Even 960 is meh.

He was posting that physx is obsolete, not the cards..

And i still dont understand why ppl would buy two separate cards (one for physx) instead of spending all on a (faster) single card.
Its not like all the newer games support it, and my i7 is faster and im using way less power than the 560ti (physx, 1070 as gpu) i used to bench it..

It would be nice to have a low profile single slot card.

Actually... no. i don't think PhysX is obsolete yet. Sure there are other engines that may be more suitable depending on what you are doing, but no.
PhysX is still being used in commercial engines in CPU mode powering games on mobile, consoles and PCs.

And an FYI, if you put a slow card in PhysX mode, the main super duper GPU will stall while waiting for the slow card to finish.
It'll sit there waiting, wasting time because the it doesn't have the solutions for the next frame.

The 750Ti is slower than the 950 and the people I'm talking about are still using the 750Ti. It's obviously going to depend on what games your playing and what you expect out of it -- but pretty much everyone I know that buys cards like that aren't expecting much.

He wrote both and he's said that the 750Ti/950 are obsolete/worthless before - pretty much everything he posts is some kind of bash on Nvidia. It's getting tiring.

750TI is a good card (i have mounted 5 or 6 and they are really happy with it), but if you have the choise of a 750TI at 100 Euro and a 950 at 110 (and a 1050 at around that price :) ), wich one would you chose?

i think he talk about PhysX too wich is "obsolete", yes and no
no because it is a good way to recycle your old GPU and it look more "better" with than without, and yes because you don't need to buy a GPU for this now.

From what I saw it needs to have fast vram, at least Gddr5.. E.g. 740GT with 128bit ddr3 20-30GB/s is useless, even cpu would do better job, with Gddr5 80GB/s its actually worth it.

This 1050 has 110GB/s and gpu pixel/texture fillrate perf. around 580GTX, this should be more then enough for a physx gpu :nerd:

My recent physx game is KillingFloor2, gibs are ok, but once there is a ton of fluid- blood it starts to cripple gpu with gpu usage drops, sometimes it can work ok but then tasks gpu too much and jitters/stutters by lots of fluids (lowering it in cfg.ini helps too, but still not it).

not at all, PhysX is not a huge work if you do only that on the GPU, even a 740 2gig is far than enough in 99% of the case.

most of the time issue are due to misconfiguration (ex: select "auto" instead of "dedicated" for the GPU)

and/or driver issue like fermi and maxwell mixed on W10 (now solved btw) or modded driver (using tesla as phyx card for gaming... solved too :) ).
