    Yeah...you will want at least a 1080 for 4k.

    I can handle all games out there are 4k maxed out with no AA at 40-60 fps. I can use 2xMSAA or FXAA..but I find no need. That is streaming to my TV with Nvidia Shield TV. Works perfect....quality is insane on this 4k tv, but I still prefer my 2K 144hz Gsync monitor.

    It's not coming until AMD announces Vega.

    How's that HB bridge doing for your SLI setup? Have you tried a regular SLI bridge to compare? Curious, cuz some people swear up and down they see no change in FPS.

    Hmm, I think I got a boost in Timespy and Firestrike. It will depend on the game/resolution.

    I play on a 144Hz monitor @ 1080P.

    All the review videos only show 1080s @ 4K or 5K, which I think is where it's the only scenario that makes it worthwhile.

    I was curious. I'm on 2k 144hz Gsync, it's a Acer Predator XB1.

    So far just one GTX 1080 is handling this no problem.

    Was thinking about the future though with SLI. I prefer real world users findings at times. Mainly because there are so many benches from sites saying different things. It's one of those things where I could do it now..maybe not later things.

    I want one too! :banana:

    Wouldn't mind getting rid of SLI for the sake of better / easier overclocking first. Sure it would help with the support and all, yet I can't complain, pretty much every game I've touched supports SLI, and scaling usually is okay.

    But I've already got friends waiting for my 980s lol

    Im on 1440p 144hz too and for me the HB made a really big difference, In witcher 3 the frames shot up but in almost every game the most noticeable thing was the lack of stutter with the hb bridge.

    Made games much smoother for me. I think that 1440p 144hz is a much better bandwidth test as it much more pixels than 4K

    I constantly forget to use a second ribbon bridge and see if this actually makes any difference for me... it's not like I wouldn't have three identical mainboard boxes with everything in there :bugeye:

    Dude, you already upgraded! :D

    I would normally not do this but since I have the same name as the circuit I want the very best version (not Titan, it's too pricey) :D

    It looks tempting, was my original plan back then with 780gtx..

    Although NV Volta and AMD Navi sound more interesting, this 1080ti up to 40-50% faster then e.g. stock 980ti is nice for sure, but I want a bigger wow factor :nerd:

    If there will be a hybrid cooled 1080 Ti, maybe will be worth an upgrade. Or second 1080, however not a big fan of SLI anymore. Lets wait for those benchmarks! :)

    Been waiting for one ever since they announced Pascal.

    Gonna slam one in my system to drive the x34 and ideally pin some games out at 100fps

    My GTX 980 SLI was amazing. I never had SLI issues with any game I threw at em.

    My interest in the 1080 was the Vram and speed second honestly.

    SLI always ran like a dream for me. I never experienced or saw the micro stutters some people seem to get.

    If my 980's had 8GB Vram I would have em still I'm 100% certain.

    I did decide to grab another 1080 since I can...probably won't be able to later this year....will have eye issues to take care of.

    HB Bridge is supposed to reduce all those micro stutter issues etc to almost nothing.

    Without considering the pixel clock which includes *pixels* that are not part of the active resolution:

    2560x1440x144 = 530,841,600 pixels per second
    3840x2160x60 = 497,664,000 pixels per second

    Not much more at all. 6.67% more pixels. Insignificant.

    Yeah it's not so much the fps as sooner or later running into a vram limitation. The only reason why I'm not so happy with the 980s is that they only run 4GB... mind you, I haven't found that to be bothersome yet, but the better games get, the sooner one would notice. Incidentally, I can't see why people say you need more than 4GB vRAM right now, besides for one or two badly coded games that are just rubbish.

    If it doesn't come out this year I'm going to end up skipping Pascal in hope that GV100 isn't limited to three countries when released like the Titan X(P).
