Bethesda released a new set of screenshots for Dishonored 2. The game is planned for a November 11th release.... Dishonored 2 Screenshots Released
yup i agree looks like **** those filters though... why on earth devs love to put horrid filters all over the screen
I also think they should've stick to Unreal Engine not change it to id tech engine. It does not look that bad guys though, come on.
the resolution looks bad but its the filters they use to create a "cinematic" feel, just ends up looking washed out and blurry. I, personally, would be ashamed to release those screen shots if I was working on a triple A title.
It uses some engine of their own creation, I forgot it's name though it does look a little bit like IDTech yes. (As does Prey 2 that other game they're working on, unless I got the developers mixed up once again. )
Going by the year of 2004 that would be games like Half-Life 2 and Doom 3 which well looking at them now at least in my memory they looked a lot better than the screenshots I found via for example Steam. (Attempts at shader effects and techniques such as normal-mapping, parallax, bloom and/or HDR and early soft-shadow attempts were more along 2005 or 2006 as I remember, Crysis 1 of course stands out but was released in 2007 and it has also aged even if you use mods for texture quality and shader improvements.)
Dishonored 2 Id tech 5, Quake Champions hybrid Id tech engine, Prey 2 Cryengine so some difference there. Only Quake mention Vulcan support tho.
Looks OK. Nothing amazing. Then again, first one also looked OK. Generic cartoon art style doesn't help.
yea,but this one looks a bit more "serious" than the first but still cartoony. That's a good thing(the more serious part).
Right, looks like it's indeed IDTech5 though modified and now called "Void" (How much of a difference that makes I guess we'll just have to wait and see but I imagine they've touched up a lot of the aging IDTech5 code depending on how long the game has been in development.)
Yeah it does look a bit more realistic. I guess they listened to the people who said the art style was **** for the kind of story they were trying to tell (you know, super duper serious lol).
