You will probably find this a hopelessly newbie question. Sorry in advance!

When i run Afterburner for the first time, does it change the card's clock speed / voltage etc immediately? Meaning the program's defaults. Or does it simply read the values from the installed GTX970?

My GTX970 G1 was struggling with the warm weather here, apparently it got too hot and i got momentary -Loss of signal- during demanding games like Squad and Dying Light. I installed Afterburner and adjusted the Fan rate to be higher going from 70C. That did the trick and i had no more black screens.

But now i'm wondering if it maybe changed speeds too. I didn't touch anything but the Fan curve though. And activated user fan speed.

Doesn't change anything unless you tell it to, just reads clocks and fans, leaves the adjusting to you
