In our 3rd GTX 1060 review we test the new MSI GeForce GTX 1060 GAMING X. Aimed at the mainstream segment with a 279 USD price this card is 20 bucks cheaper compared to the founders edition, yet comes...

Was deciding between 1060 and rx480.. seems like it will be team green again, sick gpu and surprisingly fairly priced too. :)

You know perfectly well that time spy favours nvidia cards, if it was running full dx12 async then the amd cards would perform roughly 25% better than they do now,

so why even use it until futuremark or whatever they are called fixes the async bug?

    Fairly priced at £299 = $395!!!

Spend a little extra and get your shelf a GTX 1070 more performance and more head room!

Prices are a bit less than $550 here in the land of Oz xD

When I got my GTX460 it was $229.... so seeing these prices are like fffffffffffff****younvidia xD

This one is super nice *_*

For the same reason the outdated rise of the tomb raider DX 12 without the latest patch is present.

And for the same reason that time spy is using context switch like mad instead of parallel compute.

Time Spy uses a separate compute queue that's processed in parallel.

Then why did AMD approve it? Why didn't Richard Huddy complain like he does for every other game?

I will update the TR results for AMD GCN and Nvidia Pascal once I can actually find the time for it. We cannot update each and every card for a game once yet another patch gets out, un-doable. Do you have any clue how much time it takes to make these articles ? Coincidentally, it is on the to-do list for today though.

Now let me get one thing straight though, the bitching, moaning and weird vibe accusations need to stop. I am this close deleting your account, that and from some others that have been showing severe signs of fanboy'ism. Don't like it? Then by all means please move onwards to a forum that suit your needs better.

Note: the Tomb Raider DX12 results have been updated in all 1060 reviews.

:) another day another review and another card, thanks for the great job Hilbert, with all the amount of reviews daily :nerd:, sorry for crossing a line but do you ever sleep?!:3eyes:
i really got to agree with Hilbert on the fan boys, and not appreciate the fact that you can come here almost every day for something new.
kids stop fighting, we are at the end customers, enthusiasts mostly but still customers our loyalty should be bang to the buck related or to performance if $ means little to you, and that should be it!:infinity:

Have you saw the benchmarks, Timespy quite clearly favours AMD cards.

Where are you pulling 25% extra from, Fury X already here 23% from async compute.

No other game or app gets 40% extra performance on AMD hardware from async being enables, not even the AMD funded AOTS.

Great review of a good card, no exactly cheap but not silly prices either.

Saying that, it must get boring reviewing these cards when there isnt a huge amount between them.

Who do you think came up with the idea to have Async OFF/ON?

    Sweet. Thanks!

News alert, prices to drop suddenly as AMD releases the Super-duper RX485 Twin Turbo, Quad-fan, Smoking Hot Edition with 12 free games and trust us it smashes the 1060 by 2fps in every DX12 AMD title.

Plus did i mention that AMD is kind enough to give it's peasants SLI just in case one card is not fast enough for future games.

    yep

Seems to be a decent card.
i do think the 192 bit buss is going to make this card longevity to be very poor.
Dx 11 is the past super hi def bt 20.20 is just around the corner and vulkan api.
I feel who ever buys this card will end up regretting it in 12 mths from now when more and more dx12 tittles hit the shelves and the cheaper rx480 is out performing it.
I might be wrong but this is what i think will happen.

Thank you !!! It has been getting more and more hostile in some topics recently and mainly because of several, obviously highly biased people.

After all the talk about Tomb Raider DX12...the RX480 gained...1fps. Fury X does better and gained 7fps, but, 390X gained 10fps and now is faster than Fury X? "Scooby voice" hehehehehe. 290x results would've been nice to see for comparison.

Cheers for the updated benchmarks HH!

    Unfortunately it is for me....

There is a non SC model that is a little bit cheaper at $399

    It is about 100Mhz slower.
