If you are going to use it with that rig in your specs I would say not to get either.

Maybe in US and Europe this cards aren't really popular, but here in Argentina the GTX 960, GTX 950 and 750Ti sell like hot cakes.
I'm really hype for this card and a GTX 1050 :p

Asus reported 1.330mhz on their Strix rx480. Wait for some custom cards and some benchmarks then deside.

RX480, no questions ask. Those cards are tailored for upcoming new APIs.

Pascal has been going strong in new API's.
@fr33jack, wait for benchmarks and make up your own mind.

    That's what I'm gonna do.

Although we have leaked comparison VS RX480 (bites me how valid they are)...

I agree to wait for Hilbert's review but considering they are targeting 980 performance with the 1060 and Pascal does seem to do real well in DX12 these may be real.

One have to ask himself a question:
When i will be ready to change my GPU next Time?
2,3 or more years? Then the choice is simple: RX 480 (best from XFX cuz' it have Lifetime FAB warranty)

If you go for GTX, you need to look into the market past 2-4 years, and you will clearly see that nViddia don't support Old Gen GTX after new ones comes to the Market.

But ATI/AMD shows thet can & will support GCN, and it only gets better and better in Time.
Second is new DX12/Vulcan with support of Radeons ACE !

    The choice is yours :)

This one is not about Bias or not Bias -> its about ppl with low budget !!
You can't understand them (obviously you can afford GPU ~800USD/€) they don't have that much, and GTX is not for them im 100% Positive about that.

There are countries where you can live 2-3 years for that kind of money (1080=800USD) :)
Just sayin' the Radeons are better option for that kind of ppl...

Now im waiting for XFX DD Black & ASUS & Devil :)
    These 3 i will consider.

    I need to book some €uros for Zen+Sabertooth+32GB DDR4 min. 3200MHz
That's why i pick RX 480 -> and it will provide me Great Gaming for sure.

I don't have Virtual Need for Speed :bang:
I'll wait for OLEDs 4k/5k HDR in price range ~500€ the i go for Vega or Navi with ATI/HyniX HBM (High Bandwith Memory) Tek in 3D Stacked Interposer.
Until then i will be Gaming on Polaris 480 :grad:

I would hardly say it's a budget thing, the GTX 1060 is around the same price as the RX480, with AiB 480's likely costing more than AiB 1060's when they finally arrive.

Nobody is getting a hugely different experience or spending much different money wise whether they get a 480 or 1060.

The biggest issue is no SLI support, but that depends on if you play DX9/10/11 games or not.
If it's DX12/Vulkan then it likely the game will have no MGPU support, or will be able to use both cards even without needing SLI support.

The performance speaks for itself. It has a similar price but the GTX1060 clearly pulls ahead in most benchmarks.
