https://community.amd.com/thread/202410 Here is a guy who's AUDIO dies because of three 480s on his rampage 4 extreme http://www.overclock.net/t/1604421/various-amd-rx-480-review-thread/1890#post_25309056 https://community.amd.com/thread/202397 https://community.amd.com/thread/202410 https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/4qfwd4/rx480_fails_pcie_specification/
this card is awful, brought nothing new and now killing motherboard PCI E, amd lost it. 1060 will be sold far better than 480.
I hope the unfortunate early adopters get their money refunded and for any parts destroyed. This card is a complete disaster. AMD didn't need this black eye but let it happen anyways. WTF AMD?
Apparently someone with a Rampage 5 Extreme put three of these in his system and his onboard audio went RIP. RIP
No need to refuse to believe it. But hnngh, if AMD wants to stay in business they better do something today
I call bs on this. Someone bad mouthing it, nv fanboys most likely.. Just like @ nv those spitting on it at their forums. Pictures or it didnt happen.
It seems feasible but we will know more in the coming days as more people either have PCI-e slots die or it's a non-issue. I still see 84W average out of the PCI slot as a problem waiting to happen. Hope this can be fixed with a BIOS update.
Tj, it's legit. Confirmed by all the power testing, confirmed by the video I posted earlier where the guys SHOWS the PC SHUTTING DOWN for safety
Even if it's not really a problem it hurts them -- you google RX480 and the first three links are about power issues. They should have just put a 8 pin connector on the damn card. Either that or stuck with TSMC. The fact that a Nano is only 10w more is like mind boggling to me.
I think this could be more fixable then r600 was. But hot damn, the longer they do nothing the more damage such things will do.
