Haven't seen any threads here on Guru3d for the Broadwell-E CPUs, and I just received mine today so I thought i'll start a thread!

Planning to upgrade my current system, but before i can do that i have to wait for waterblocks to come(hopefully a nice monoblock is released)! But I'm curious on overclocking potential! so share your experiences here!

    Currently have the :
    6950X
    Rampage V Extreme 10
    G.SKILL F4-3200C14Q-32GTZ Trident Z (32gb)

Hopefully ill will have the system up and running next month!

Looks nice but in all seriousness i dont think Broadwell-E will have many owners.

Intel is out of their mind.

I agree, pricing is pretty crazy. Im mostly upgrading since my CPU is degrading. So wanna sell it before it totally dead lol.

You know, when you need huge amount of voltage just to make it stable stock clocks or some low overclock. Idk how much his cpu has degraded.

I've noticed degradation of my Sandy chip many times. Bump up in voltage fixes it tho.

Pretty much this. Been running 4.6ghz at 1.39v for the last year(tons of abuse lol). But last couple of months my overclock has become unstable. Now just to keep the cpu running at 4.3ghz I need 1.38v, and still occasionally crash on heavy transcoding projects.

So it's only matter of time before cpu degrades more and I'll have to lower the overclock or replace it.

To me the 6950x is a pipe-dream haha.Altough I can probbly pick one up from a buddy that works at microcenter through Intel retail edge, I think you only pay 1/3 retail price that way.Otherwise no way in hell woudl I be able to afford that thing.Id love to own one tough I wont lie.

I totally agree. Broadwell-E is a pricey upgrade. I think this will bring down prices of Haswell-E based CPUs.

Same as with my chip. These days it's at 4.5GHz/1.35V

Great pics btw, i wish i had a system like that aswell. :(

128GB of ram at 3200 might be asking for too much, Might have to either lower the speed, or tweak the timings and run some stability tests.

And or raise cpu system agent voltage Offset, 0.050+ is a good start.

Rising vccsa actually helps with higher frequency ram?

Idk about Sandy, but on newer Haswell+ it does. Especially if OC'ed or lots of it.:nerd:

    Got my 5960x on February 2015...Still happy that I still don't experience degradation..Still running 4.5ghz @ 1.245v 24/7..4.7ghz @ 1.32v..

Still thinking of upgrading to 6950x when it is available in my country..

So! I finally rebuilt my PC, I was waiting for the 1080 strix to come and after a full day of rebuilding my system, here is the end result.
Still have a few things to clean up but once the air is out of the Loop, it will be time to tweak and overclock this badboy!

    Specs are on my profile.

Didn't win any silicon lottery with my brand new 6800k.

4.1ghz on +0.05v added to default
4.2ghz needs +0.12v to make stable. Temperatures are rising fast, even with the fancy watercooler
4.3ghz I had to manually put it at 1.4v just for doing some benchmarking, I really DON'T want to use it like that.

So, running @ 4.1 ... well, 6 cores of video encoding awesomeness ;)

Well, Here is my best results of a stable OC with a 6800k, Antec kuhler h20 1250 AIO watercooler, Corsair AIR540 case @ 21C, ASUS X99-AII (beta bios version 0903) mainboard @ 19C and EVGA FTW GTX1080. CASE CLOSED for most stable bench + OC.
The parameters of this OC are:
CPU 126fsb * 36clock = 4535.6mhz @1.516v plus additional power adjustments obviosly too many to list Max Temp 66C Gaming Temp 51C
    CPU Cache 126fsb * 27clock = 3402 (have had success with 29 * 126 but am a lil nervous) @ 1.35v
    DDR 4 3400 mhz XMP @ 3360 @ 1.35v
GTX 1080 @ 2126 core 11000mhz Mem with throttle to 2114 after 52C temp maxes at 53C factory cooling.
    2x Kingston SSD 240GB @ Raid 0
    LEPA B1000M 1000w PS
    TimeSpy Result: http://www.3dmark.com/spy/419746 Score: 8133
Fire Strike Result: http://www.3dmark.com/fs/10100095 Score: 20550
All Benches running with 100% Fan speed. Not exactly quite but not exactly too noisy I guess. The AIO is very windy albiet a lil noisy and coolermaster fans ramp up quite nicely as well.
Any AA game that came out this year runs at least 4k @ 60fps + (with the exception of Deus EX )or @ 6k resolution. F1 2016 runs solid @ 8k after latest patch. Waiting for the DX12 update.
Every other racing game I have runs 8k minimum 45 fps.

    @1.516v ???
You're insane, that chip will be dead within a few months, if not sooner.

I really hope this is just to get a score in 3DMark, and not using it like that all the time !
