Go to disk management, and make sure it has a drive letter assigned to it, if not, give it one of the free ones offered

this sometimes happens when you setup a dual boot... even dual windows ... sometimes it just doesnt initialize all disks in all installations.
but yeah fix should be as extraord. said.

Ok when I go to device management I can see that drive as ( f ) when I press populate it says 476939 Mb of space then the following cattagories are available...General,Policies,Volumes,Driver,Details. Thats it.I did a (format) to erase it but yet it still only showing 999mb for some reason. What the hell?

Disk management, not device manager :)

Right click the start button > disk management (Or start > right click My Computer/This PC > Manage)

Find the drive > right click > change drive letters and paths > choose a new letter for it

You only need to select this option

Take a screenshot of your entire disk management window and post it here

Check the disk doesn't saw RAW

If it says RAW, or Unallocated, and you have files on that disk you need to keep, you'll need to run a data recovery program

If not, create a new simple volume
