    Hi all,

The 1080 is $1300 aus each..pretty expensive. Was planning on getting 2 cards. I could get 3 980Ti's for the same price...

Should I get 2 x 1080 or 3 x 980Ti. Plus I'm waiting for board partners, particularly ASUS to bring out their 1080 design. Better cooling, faster clocks...

P.s. wanting to game at 4K 60 FPS on high/ultra

    Thanks All.. Nate

    I'd lean towards the 1080:

-3rd card in SLI scales really poorly.
-On games that don't scale, the 1080 wins.
-2x = less heat, less power, easier to setup than 3x
-10 series is likely to see better performance increases in drivers than 9 series
-You get to use that fancy new SLI bridge with 10 series
-nerd boasting (check out my new kit!)

    I'd go with 2 1080's as well.

3 way SLI is extremely dubious at best. I'd wait for the cheapest 1080s available from a brand such as MSI, EVGA, Asus (make sure you check the allowed power draw, for the 900 series their Strix series had the lowest allowed compared to other companies), or... actually just those. Too bad XFX doesn't make nVidia cards anymore do they? That and BFG doesn't exist anymore.
