I need recommendation, my pc specs : Videocard: GeForce GTX 960 Processor: Phenom II x6 1090T 3.2Ghz Mainboard: Gigabyte socket AM3 Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3 16Gb PSU: Corsair CX 500W Which AMD processor and motherboard suitable for my PC, so I am not wrong in choosing I see there is low wattage processor amd right, if it does not reduce the performance?
I don't think there is any point to switch from a phenom x6 to any fx cpu. You would see very similar performance in games, if not worse. The only difference would be SSE4 support.
He (might) benafit from a clock-speed advantage if he must stay with Amd if he picked-up a Fx 8350 for xample- but with Zen right around the corner it would be in his best interest to wait it out. So if I were you (wait) for Zen! Or get a Fx 8350,8370, if you dont wanna wait.Motherboards I would be looking at are..... 1)Asus Fx 990 Formula-Z rog 2)Asus 990 Fx Sabertooth 3) Asus 990 Fx pro-Best mid/range performer There is a few Gigabyte 990 fx boards as well worth considering.
I do not anything about Phenom II, whether the processor that is still capable enough to run with GTX960? I bought a package this gaming PC in 2009. TRUE that I only understand viewed Ghz only, ok I'll wait for AMD zen. Fortunately I ask in this forum.
I still think your suggestions would be a sidegrade for him. Also, if he buys an fx8350 now, and he decides to upgrade his gpu later, then he has to buy another cpu again.
Can't you wait until Zen at least in October? No matter what, it will at least drop some Intel prices and you'll get a chance to get a much better CPU with the same amount of money, whether it's Intel or AMD.
